Anyone listen to Jim Rome today? (Monday)

I got to hear about an hour of it today and all anyone was talking about was the Randy vs Toney fight. Rome would start on other subjects but the callers and emailers kept bring it back to the fight. I guess publicity like this made it worth Dana's time and money, because there was definitely a "buzz" on Rome's show today.

It was briefly discussed on PTI today and both Kornheiser and Wilbon described it for what it was, which was refreshing to hear after all the nonsense that has been spewed ever since it happened.

It was a freak show fight and they're entirely different sports.  Anyone who came to a definitive conclusion about one sport being better than the other by watching that needs to have their head examined for being so ignorant.

That interview is insane....I can't believe he said some of those things. Even stupid by toney standards

Sad that while this sham of a PPV was going on two little guys were waging REAL war in Puerto Rico.

Highly recommend you seek out Ivan Calderon vs. Giovanni Segura. Perhaps Fight of the Year (Boxing) so far.

And forgot to add it continued the rivalry between Mexico and Puerto Rico so you can just imagine the ferocity.

You can't judge the whole PPV based on the Toney fight--it wasn't even the official main event.  Penn versus Edgar was a championship fight between two very good fighters.

I did hear that Calderon finally got his first loss and that it was a pretty good fight.  I hadn't heard FOTY talk--the articles I read made it sound like Calderon was forced to trade but (as expected) couldn't hurt Segura due to a lack of punching power.  It was sobering to see that Toney seemed to dominate the weekend discussions, even on boxing boards.
