Was it any good?
Need a Ute to use on a daily basis to cart work stuff around in.
I'm guessing they are cheap for a reason but would love to hear opinions from people who have owned them.
You get what you pay for
They had some pretty poor scores in crash tests, I'd steer clear.
Worked with a guy who had a minor crash in it, said the dam thing pretty much fell apart and was written off.
All things I have read are you get what u pay for
whats the thought process behind cheaping out on a work ute? is it just money? just finance it, lease rates r super low right now. jsut get a hilux and be done with it
Shit
Thanks guys, thought that might be the case. Will steer clear then.
Happy to pay good money for a good product but was just curious to see what people thought of these Utes.
I drive a 2011 Hilux at the mo but I'm needing another work ute.
The Hilux is awesome but I wouldn't buy another because you are paying a premium for the name.
There are any number of other Utes out there that are on a par with the Hilux but considerably less expensive.
209 VUs, perfect:)
You guys are lucky, access to so many rigs we can't get in merica
MountainMedic - 209 VUs, perfect:)The symmetry is mind boggling! Haha still rocking the name. Was gunna change back but decided to keep it

209'd@170 - Thanks guys, thought that might be the case. Will steer clear then.My brother had a 2011 sr5 dual cab. Not 1 issue. He thought it was good value back then.

The only other option would be a ranger wild trak, or amorak, he wouldn't look at a triton or colorado

walbjj -I agree that it's a brilliant vehicle. It's just that they are clearly the most expensive ute and I think the others have caught up a long way!209'd@170 - Thanks guys, thought that might be the case. Rangers are great to drive and look mint. BT-50s are basically the same to drive but don't look as good. Only driven a Colorado a few times but I was impressed with the comfort and performance.
Not a fan of how the tritons look at all but I know several people who have them and they love them.
I've heard that the Amaroks can be susceptible to blowing turbos and they are apparently useless without them.
Taking money out of the equation I would still go for a Ranger I think

you cant lose on either the ranger or hilux.
the hilux will retain more value later on when you sell. but the reality is you don't need to sell them if they are a work ute. you can keep them forever.
plus there's also the capped servicing costs that toyota offers. not sure if ford has it.
just buy a 2nd hand hilux and that's it.
i'm waiting for a trd version of the hilux. fuck buying these massive american things. just a bit too big for sydney. maybe up in qld
Seen one fall apart in less than 3 months. Pieces of shit.
We had one at work a few years ago. I never drove it myself but the guy that did said it was horrible.
Bought one of the first ones brand new and was a lemon
Accelerator cable snapped speedo wouldn't work and car got recalled for emissions the list went on and on and the dealer was a prick and would not admit it was a lemon
I hear they are better now but fuck that shit never again
TBMC - Bought one of the first ones brand new and was a lemonHahaha holy shit! That's quite the list! Will definitely leave them well alone then. Cheers mate
