Looks like about 300 theaters were showing it - one is right near my home and I might catch 112 there, wanted to know how it was, quality/crowd/price, etc. If anyone saw it at Island 16 in Holtsville, NY, even better, that's the one near me.

It wasn't bad here, but I live in Rockford Illinois - not even close to NY. The quality wasn't bad, I'd say the theater was roughly 2/3rd's full and it was 20 dollars for a ticket. Overall the crowd wasn't bad at all, during a lot of the fights there were people clapping - with the occasional yelling. Oh, every time GSP got a takedown people clapped as well. Surprisingly there was only one bonehead comment that I heard - some guy yelled, "Break it! Snap it! Break his fucking arm!" when Jim Miller was cranking the Kimura on Bocek.
do they sell booze in the theatres?
hubris - do they sell booze in the theatres?
They do here in the Dominican Republic.
Waterbottle
We have one theatre in town that has 33 oz taps available. The others do not. I hope the one with beer decides to get fights. That would probably be a fun way to watch them.
$20 for a ticket? Wow. Doesn't seem worth it unless you're going for the 'live crowd' experience.
Grakman - $20 for a ticket? Wow. Doesn't seem worth it unless you're going for the 'live crowd' experience.
Watching the UFC amongst its core demographic is always a pleasure
^Not for me I fucking hate they're demographic.

That would be the point for the most part, I never got to see the UFC live, tried to get tickets for 111 but they sold out too fast and I couldn't afford the $300+ seats. I think it would be fun to watch on a massive screen with a bunch of other fans yelling and screaming.

sarcasm brah
oh shit, my bad bra.
Tickets here are 25$ a pop. Just outside of Philly.
No thanks.
I don't understand how people can complain about having another option to watch UFC PPVs for a cheaper price.
Not really worth it imo when you can go to bars and watch them for free.
Or just watch them online for free has well.
$20??? damn... especially if you are with friends - I can't see why it would be worth it to go to a theater?
Windfall - $20??? damn... especially if you are with friends - I can't see why it would be worth it to go to a theater?
because the jagoffs who go to a bar and try to weasel the entire night out with one $5 drink but still take up space won't pay the $20 so the odds of you watching in relative peace go up a whole lot.
How about selling tickets at regular movie prices instead of half the price of the PPV? Seems to me they might get a lot more people to actually go who might not otherwise have forked over the bucks, if it is more like a regular movie at regular prices.
Nitecrawler -You're assuming a lot. I only have two friends when I count the imaginary ones.Windfall - $20??? damn... especially if you are with friends - I can't see why it would be worth it to go to a theater?
Exactly, if you have just 2 friends you can order the PPV for cheaper.
Still, it's good to see the UFC trying something new.

I live in Rockford bro! Was it at the 16 or the 14?
yes.. on my own. I charge 10 bucks a head (only recently) and cook/bbq in the summer.
