According to Kevin Iole:
"She has her critics, who mostly show jealousy because of her fame and success, because there is nothing she doesn't do properly."
"Anyone who criticizes her now is only looking for things to rip her about. She's now beaten all of the fighters in the women's bantamweight division's top five, as well as six of the top seven and seven of the top 10."

Windmilling is now 'excellent boxing technique'
"There is nothing she doesn't do properly"
What a stupid thing to say.
I guess going straight back with your head way up in the air is how to box properly. I'm pretty sure an elite level striker would pick her apart on the feet.
I take nothing from Ronda but you would swear she's the greatest fighter to ever walk the planet with the way they go on.
Ronda is king of the 135 division she is very talented in a weak division. As for 140 & 145 I will give that to Cyborg no other fighter wants to stake that claim.
My gi is my sword -Windmilling is now 'excellent boxing technique'
I've been boxing since I'm 8 and im 43 now. Rhonda is not a pure boxer, but she was not "windmilling" her punches as you say. Her punches were crisp and explosive and she had good hip movement. She may have eaten a few punches wading in to do battle, but I believe that was more because she did not respect her opponents power. Were some of her punches thrown with recklessness.. Hell yeah, but it worked for her and very well.
She threw good combos for an MMA fighter.
A can crusher is the "biggest star in mma" lol

Good combos for a champion, or good combos for a wmma champion? I cant imagine Dillashaw being champ throwing hands like that
"I think that we need Ronda. We need her story and legend in order to live our lives coherently."

No there are elite strikers in MMA for sure and many have upped their game such as TJ, but a huge percent of MMA fighters are still two punch combo fighters. Watch Rhonda throw the last punch combo that put Bethe down. Jab, Straight right, Left hook to the body, Straight right landing on the ear and then a super quick straight left that hits Bethe as she is falling. 5 punches thrown with accuracy and power.
I don't expect MMA fighters to be classic boxers it just does not work for MMA. Can Rhonda be better on defense of course she can. I don't want her to get hit by a lucky shot, but so far she has shown that she has a chin and keeps advancing.
I'm a Rocky Marciano fan and Rock was a puncher. That is what I like :)

We must have been watching two different fights.
or you are highly critical because you are a boxing fan. I've been there and I look at MMA with a different lense now.
She is not a pro boxer. and she may have some technical deficiencies, but to claim she is just winging punches is not reality based in my opinion.
I love watching her fight. That's it. She acted like an absolute child on TUF and her interviews make me want to hang myself...
The amount of butthurt after a Ronda fight is laughable. It's like people just can't stand the success and praise she's getting. It really bothers them so they're constantly trying to discredit what she's doing.

Not trying to discredit anyone but trying to add a bit of perspective to the madness that is the Ronda hype train. People are seriously comparing her to Ali and Anderson Silva. People truly believe she's the most feared fighter on the planet and she'd beat a lot of the male fighters.
We have to acknowledge the difference between MMA and WMMA.

You say Rousey is a can crusher but you probably think Fedor is the GOAT ;)

I can't imagine Dillashaw throwing combos like that, but I can imagine Matt Hughes and Brock Lesnar throwing 'em like that. Ronda's striking is also way ahead of legendary old-school fighters like Mark Coleman, Dan Severn, Ken Shamrock, etc.
Agreed with OP.
I don't think Ronda's a bitch or a whatever, I just don't care for her style or personality.
Read an uneducated article on CNN saying she was unargably "the best fighter in the world"
... fucking ridiculous.
and Ronda zealots act like trolls when it comes to having a debate about her technique/skill.
Shes been impressive so far, nobody can take that from her.
Ronda's experience is relatable to male fighters, but there is no female that can be compared to her, therefore everytime the bar is raised it becomes a profound moment in history. This is cause for said zealots' to abondon logic and jump to generalizations and false conclusions. This results in shitty conversation with my friends who read CNN headlines for news and think Ronda Rousey is better than Bruce Lee ever was.
Rhonda is the matriarch of bitches.
Technical Primates -So by acknowledging the difference between men's and women's mma, we have to find ways to prove she's not as good as people say after every fight? Of course you can't compare men's and women's mma, you just have to respect women's MMA for what it is.Sir Psycho Sexy - The amount of butthurt after a Ronda fight is laughable. Hes stuck in the friend zone along with dana and rogan apparently
Agree with OP, I didn't give an opinion?
