Hey, I should have done this weeks ago but I just wanted to let everybody know that GAMMA Fitness will be hosting a grappling tournament at Center Stage in Rainbow City Alabama (Gadsden) called the App Gadsden Open on December the 7th.
We are paying $1250 out to the Men's Absolute division winner, $300 out to the Women's Absolute division winner and $100 out to all of the Advanced division winners. We have intermediate and beginner divisions for kids, teens and adults as well. You can go to appgadsdenopen.com to pre-register, read the rules and get more info about divisions and weight classes. This is a no-gi tournament only.
More good news!! I am actually hosting three tournaments!! The first is an open tournament on December the 7th and the second is an open tournament on February the 15th of 2014. If you place in the top 8 of the men's or women's absolute divison you will be automatically invited to the third tournament on May the 3rd of 2014, where the prize money will double to $2500 for the men and $600 for the women!!!
There are a few more things about this tournament that I am doing that I am really excited about!!! Like the Absolute division finals match will be decided by submission only!!! No time limit and no points!!! The match will continue till someone taps!!! It's gonna be awesome!!!! There is more exicting news heading this way but I can't let the cat out of the bag just yet!!!
