If there was a fix, this was a perfect opportunity to take a point from Mendes given he still did it after Herb Dean said he would take a point if he did it again. Not sure I can hate on Mendes for it. I mean you throw elbows with the intent of causing a cut and if you get one you keep trying to hit it so what the difference if you target it with fingers?

I'm pretty sure one of the UFC rules says that you aren't allowed to put your fingers into any laceration (cut) on the opponent. Still, it's a cage fight with a ton on the line. Doesn't really make me think less of Mendes. Kinda icky though.

This is interesting, I did notice Herb Dean constantly telling him to watch his fingers but I didn't notice him just try to scratch his cut open even more.
