Could this be the start of FOX influencing who's on The Roster? Are they banging the anti 'wrestler' drum?
Maybe they want fighters to be more 'entertaining' to the casual fan?
I just can't imagine Dana would cut Fitch unless external pressure is being applied. Especially after how he beat Silva.
I'd bet a bollock on it.
No.
Pat Giles -No.
It doesn't seem to be too out of character.
Really fitch is better than at least 80% of the ww on the roster... But he's not young anymore, not overly exciting, not on any sort of win streak and probably not bringing in what he's getting paid.
I feel like the way the ufc is going you will either have to be one of three things
1) a contender
2) an up and comer
3) a name, somewhere.
If you don't fit in there you'll likely be close to the door.
Not saying I agree but it does make some business sense.
I doubt Fox really gets that granular. If they have an objection to airing a fight because it has the potential to be "boring", I'd imagine it would simply take a phone call to make adjustments.
I'd even venture a guess that Fox has some amount of content control in the contract. - Anyone have some insight into this? (Specifics would be great if they can be verified, but I'll take more ambiguous details as long as the source is reliable) :)
Thx
yes cause fox cares who is on PPV

Fitch is not a name???
superCalo -
FOX has already cut the amount it pays uFc due to less viewing numbers than agreed upon in the initial contract, this may be a move by FOX enforcing its muscle now that they hold a higher % of power in the relationship, uFc failed its end so FOX is trying to sort it out so its does not start bleeding money for them.
LMAO. You have no idea what you're talking about.

Well not really. I mean I know him, and you do. Lots of us do. But many fans who don't follow the sport the way we do likely will not miss him a year from now.
But what I meant was more someone like hardy who is a name somewhere in that he's worth something when they go to the UK. Or someone like rich franklin who was really a name.
As I said I'm not agreeing with the tactics but it's clear he's not bringing in extra revenue which doesn't help him in his current situation.
Best case scenario for the ufc would likely have him go to bellator and it would show the ufc how polished askren is in comparison to their talent.
Don't care.
Less blankets in the ufc is a good thing.
Somebody better call the wambulance quickly, there is a significant amount of butthurt going around.

U don't...this post makes perfect sense. I can see this happening 100%.
No Olympic wrestling. No mma wrestling.

Fish on!
Unless he and uncle Dana had it out, it's disrespectful. Look at the guys record and who he lost to. I'm not a huge fan, but I do have a lot of respect for Fitch and what he's done in the cage.
No.
No.
agree with it or not, fitch has not finished an opponent in about 7 years... dana has been very clear over the years he wants guys that come to finish fights, not just win...
it was a business decision and from the casual fans I know, fitch will not be missed... and dana is appealing to the masses, not the minority hardcore fans who appreciate fitch...
