I don't understand how a crowd can cheer for the outcome of the Sanchez fight . I was at GSP Vs Condit live and I saw Carmont vs Tom Lawlor live . Lawlor lost the fight but he should of won the decision and the whole arena boo Carmont even if he trains in Canada and was the home town favourite we knew he lost I just don't understand how a crowd can cheer for a fighter that won a fight that he should of not won even if he's the home crowd favourite.
And I'm not trying to bash anyone by making this thread
It's not like Sanchez is from Albuquerque or anything
The arena was packed with 8,000 of Diego's closest friends.
Pride.
TelligmansTitties - It's not like Sanchez is from Albuquerque or anything![]()
but op has a point, Carmont is French (maybe not local French but the ethnicity and language is what matters there) and won in MTL, then was booed cause the crowd saw Lawlor get robbed.
ChaosOverkill -Yeah that was my point I guess some crowds are more MMA educated then othersTelligmansTitties - It's not like Sanchez is from Albuquerque or anything![]()

Paquet90 -I think there are more examples of a crowd cheering the hometown guy even if he just got a bad decision. Albuquerque is an educated fight town imoChaosOverkill -Yeah that was my point I guess some crowds are more MMA educated then othersTelligmansTitties - It's not like Sanchez is from Albuquerque or anything![]()

I thought it was because he's American and Ross isn't?
Just another example of the horrible judging problem within MMA. After the fight Gilbert Melendez kept saying he thought Ross won but that it was also his (Pearson's) fault for not doing more knowing he was fighting Sanchez in Albuquerque. What the hell should the location of the fight have to do with the outcome or how one fights?
Apparently the judging has gotten so bad that even the fighters now think that outcomes are going to be influended by WHO is fighting WHERE. How sad is that? It should simply be based on who the better fighter was that night. But it's not.

The same reason that Brazilians boo, is more like it. They're stupid and poor sports.

Nah the Brazilian crowds are the best. I love the silence when one if their guys gets KOed. Jeremy Stephens vs. Rony Jason was priceless
Actually they cheered because when Diego won it kicked in the free beer at the after party perk !

How about when Hendo broke Shogun's face in Brazil after Rua had been pounding on him?
The crowd went so silent the only person in the arena you could hear was Dan's hot new blonde girlfriend screaming "I love you!" at him while the rest of the crowd wanted to kill themselves via Jonestown Massacre
I was there last night, I was shocked at the judges decision. Not surprised by the fans initial reaction. I will say that not a single person in or group of five cheered for diego after the decision. A loud collected WTF, but no cheering. That was a straight up robbery NMAC should be put through the ringer over this.
