Are the Leafs really better?

Of course the Leafs are fuckin better.

Paul Maurice behind the bench.

Raycroft and Aubin as a 1-2, could be the best 1-2 in the game by the time all is said and done.

Kubina and Gill added to the blueline.

the best defensive forward in the game in Peca.

Then you factor in that the outstanding talent in Steen, Stajan and Wellwood will all be another year along in their already fantastic development, all three being a year closer to hitting their prime.

Ponikarovsky will continue to build off what he accomplished last year. Antropov will breakout. Sundin isn't going anywhere, and will pick up where he left off. Tucker is a 30 goal guy, Oneil a potential 40 goal guy looking to get back to COnn Smythe calibre form, and you can sure bet we will will have many more pleasent surprises.

Perhaps Carlo, who most around here know as "the next better version of Bourque" Colaiacovo will stay healthy and add to the best blueline in the game, not that it matters because the Leafs still have the best blueline in the game.

Those unwilling to accept the Leafs being much better are on in for a long year.

Did i ever told you that i love your posts, they are entertaining as hell.

Best 1-2 Goalers the league, Be serious.

My top 5 (even if they are not the best, they are ahead of the Duo Raycroft-Aubin.

Ryan Miller Martin Biron

Hasek-Osgood

Brodeur by himself (j/k)

Toskala-Nabokov

Huet-Aebisher

Even Tellqvist will do better than Aubin.

Watchout for Weekes and Lundqvist

Theodore-Budaj

"Are the Leafs really better? "

no

LOL

Better than Philly? Yes. Well, maybe.

Better than half the Timbits hockey teams? No.

Mark

"Paul Maurice behind the bench."

He's 20-20-6 this season. .500. Thats good for 10th place in the division (and falling fast)

"Raycroft and Aubin as a 1-2, could be the best 1-2 in the game by the time all is said and done."

Raycroft is ranked #29 in GAA. Aubin isn't ranked. They better get to work.

"Kubina and Gill added to the blueline."

Hal Skills has 10 whole points and is +7, Kubina has 8 points and is +1. Real gems, there.

"he best defensive forward in the game in Peca."

15 points and +2. He is currently defending the IR.

"Ponikarovsky will continue to build off what he accomplished last year. Antropov will breakout. Sundin isn't going anywhere, and will pick up where he left off. Tucker is a 30 goal guy, Oneil a potential 40 goal guy looking to get back to COnn Smythe calibre form"

LOL @ these prediction. You didn't get one right.

"and you can sure bet we will will have many more pleasent surprises."

The only pleasant surprise for the loafs would be the season ending early. Then, you wouldn't be forced to endure any more pitiful hockey for the rest of the season.

"Hal Skills has 10 whole points and is +7, Kubina has 8 points and is +1. Real gems, there."

are you trying to strengthen my case here? those are quite respectable numbers.

"LOL @ these prediction. You didn't get one right."

actually I was right on Poni who did exactly what I said he would before getting injured.

Tucker could very well end up hitting 30, and would no doubt hit 30 had he not been injured, and Sundin has been great all year. Antropov is still one year away from putting it all together, he has shown great signs this year.

You keep telling yourself that.

Mark

dude, tucker was on pace for 40 if he wasn't injured. maurice is an excellent coach. i had disagreed with raycroft being a good goalie, he looked like a tool when the leafs played boston.

Poni and Antropov back in action tonight, both with goals in leaf victory. Vancouver would have never beaten the Leafs if they were in the lineup on Saturday.

yeah Poin and Antropov would have accounted for 6+ goals by themselves.

For the record, here are Mikael Tellqvist's numbers since moving to Phoenix:

W L T Min GA SA SO GAA Sv%
8 3 2 783 38 403 1 2.91 .906

Here are Raycroft's since Tellqvist was traded

W L T Min GA SA SO GAA Sv%
8 8 2 1080.53 60 482 0 2.72 .889

Have fun!

Tellqvist numbers really aren't that good to the point it matters one way or another.

Over .500 on a crappy team, just like Raycroft...
