Late this summer, Andrei "The Pitbull" Arlovski looks to prove he's not all bark and no bite.
Leo Khorlinsky, the former UFC heavyweight champion's manager, today told MMAjunkie.com that the fighter will headline the first offering of the newly revamped ProElite on Aug. 27 at Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu. Broadcast plans for the event have yet to be announced.
Khorlinsky said a tentative opponent is in place for the late summer show, though bout agreements have yet to be signed. Arlovski (15-9) begins training early next week at Greg Jackson's academy in Albuquerque, N.M.
TheBeebs - Arlovski/Duffee, while lacking any relevance in the division, would be an excellent matchup imo. <img src="/images/phone/post_tag.png" alt="Phone Post" border="0" style="vertical-align:middle;"/>
Yea we can see who had the superior jaw nerve surgery.
BJJkilla - a 4th fight with sylvia would actually be a good fight for AA.
But not for the fans. :-(
yeah but AA needs a win badly. sylvia at this point is just fighting for a paycheck.
But he still hits hard. That ain't good for Andrei. Big Timmay is perfectly capable of pulling off the Brett Rogers gameplan ... throw a flurry, make Arlo back straight up (like he always does), and flatten him when his back hits the fence.
That would be a decent fight, but Gonzaga is supposed to be making his return with a title shot against Reality Fighting heavyweight champ Parker Porter on September 24th.
Yea but that fight is kind of a joke and Gonzaga could conceivably take 2 fights a month apart considering.
