Asylum Fight League Inks Deal with Trump Taj Mahal

Asylum Fight League 43: Trump Taj Mahal, November 9, 2013

New Jersey's premier fight promotion, the Asylum Fight League, returns to the Trump Taj Mahal on Saturday November 9, 2013 with Asylum Fight League 43. Doors open at 7PM and the fights begin at 8PM.

The Trump Taj Mahal is one of the hottest casino hotels in Atlantic City, and it is kicking up the intensity with the addition of the Asylum Fight League.

"As a promoter," Carl Mascarenhas said, "I have an opportunity to work with a lot of great people, and I am truly excited to work with the staff at the Taj Mahal in Atlantic city. They run an exceptional venue and have pulled out the stops to welcome Asylum to the Taj."

The first show at the Taj Mahal took place on September 28, 2013, with Asylum Fight League 42. The show was a smashing success, and the fans were treated to one of Asylum's best shows ever.

On November 9, the Asylum will be back and, as always, the card is stacked with the best MMA talent on the East Coast, in both the men's and women's divisions.

As Carl Mascarenhas says:  "You will have a seat but will only need the edge because these fights are truly insane."

If you've ever been to an Asylum show, you'll know those words ring true.  And if not, make sure to check out this latest event at the Taj Mahal.

"Asylum is number one for a reason," Mascarenhas say:  "We are INSANE!"

Tickets can be purchased at the Asylum Fight League Website at www.asylumfightleague.com.  The show takes place on Saturday, November 9, 2013.  Doors open at 7PM and the action begins at 8PM.  Tickets can be purchased at the Asylum Fight League website and at the door.

The Asylum does put on professional fights as well.  We've done a lot of pro fights, but mostly in PA.  Lately the promoter Carl Mascarenhas has been focusing on the ammys more than the pros.  But I can see how that can be a bit confusing.

Show happens this Saturday at the TAJ!

The second part is a reference to the upcoming 100K middleweight tournament. I bet you would be more skeptical if they claimed to be the premier professional organization in the area, so they went with ammy. Admittedly, a tad confusing.

I will tell you that what's not confusing is that Asylum always puts on a great show.  Looking forward to tomorrow.

Asylum Fight League is back with its latest installment "Asylum Fight League 42" on September 28 from the Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, New Jersey. This 14-bout amateur card will feature some of the top prospects on the East Coast and two title fights.

In the main event, for the AFL Title, Frankie Roberts (3-2) fights Kevin Perez (4-0). Roberts is coming off a title victory with another organization and looks to make it back to back title wins with AFL. Roberts is a ground specialist and has solid submissions, especially from the bottom. Roberts is also a good wrestler so he has a strong top game with strikes from the mat as well as solid cardio to go full speed for a whole fight. Perez has never tasted defeat and comes into the bout after several impressive wins. Perez is vicious on the ground, picking up 3 wins via armbar submission. This fight looks to be a great chess match if and when it hits the mat. These fighters could also stand and bang as they might be leery of going to the mat because both are such accomplished grapplers. The winner of this bout will be one of the top amateurs in the lightweight division.

In other title action, Keith Knudsen (4-3) battles Bill Borawski (5-4) with another AFL Title on the line. Knudsen is coming off a spectacular KO win in his last fight inside of one minute. Knudsen is a one man wrecking crew as his fists are deadly in the cage. Knudsen's grappling game has not quite caught up to his striking as he has been submitted on more than one occasion. Look for Knudsen to keep the fight on the feet and try to land one of his devastating haymakers. Borawski is a dangerous fight for Knudsen because of Borawski's tremendous ground game. Borawski has 4 of his wins via tapout and is very active on the mat with a strong takedown. Look for Borawski to go for a takedown early and often. If he can get the fight to the mat, he will be at a huge advantage.

"Asylum Fight League 42" comes to you live and direct on September 28. With this mega card you can be sure there will be plenty of knockouts, submissions and great fights. Don't miss this exciting event which has become a proving ground for some of the top fighters in the North East. If you can't be there live, the only way to see this show is to order it exclusively through the GFL Combat Sports Network at GFL.tv.
