They have open mats from 2-4;30 on sundays, all ages welcome. Great coaching.
Im 44, 210 pounds, recreational purple belt, recreational wrestler. I need a partner around my size to go to this if any one is intersted. I prefer intense drilling over live wrestling but im game for whatever.
I have a few wrestling partners now but its sporadic when we get together, especially this time of year. I would like to have someone who would hit this practice weekly. ANybody?
CJJScout - At the Cooler, huh? I'm smaller than you but may be up for it on the rare occasion. Typically Sundays are reserved for family and rest, but...
Yes sir, at the cooler. That would be great if you could make it. If there's a big size difference we can just drill. I may be able to talk my buddy into coming. He was 125 in college, probably 145 now. He's really good, I am not. Lol
I'd be really interested in this, although I can't do it during the summer. I play in an old man has been/never was baseball league on Sundays. Any idea if this will continue on through the fall? How many guys usually show up?
I have been wanting to get some straight wrestling practice as a change of pace. I am a recreational brown belt with no real wrestling training but am pretty good at take downs/td defense (for a bjj guy...which I know isn't saying much). I'm a bit smaller than you (160) so I'm not an ideal partner but I don't mind getting tossed around. A few years ago I wrestled 4-5 times a week for a few months with a guy that wrestled at Iowa and he was about your weight...so obviously getting dumped on my head is not a problem lol.

Sweet. They should keep it going through the fall and winter, if anything it will probably get busier. I have not been yet but from what i have heard, a handful of post college wrestlers get together and train there. Ramond James is one and i think he still competes at the International level.
As far as hacks like us, i dont know if there is anyone, thats why im trying to find a partner to go. LOL
I was told that the coaches said all ages welcome just bring a partner.
I will PM you my contact info and if you end up with a free Sunday, hit me up.
Also, not sure where you live but i train with the coach at this place sometimes, im actually going there today after work. We tried to get an official adult practice going but it fizzled out. Now we just get together and drill/wrestle/nogi when schedules permit. If your close, you may want to meet us there sometime.
Awesome. I actually enjoy wrestling guys far superior to me but I also understand if they don't want to waste their time training with me. I wouldn't want to cut into somebody's real training time b/c I know it can be limited. I'll definitely hit you up later in the year.
NCAA92 is living in past glory days. Whether he wants to admit it or not, I have taken him down on multiple occasions, and he out weighs me by at least 150lbs.

LOL at you weighing 100 pounds. Chip he is just saying he never received it because he is afraid I would show up. And for the record he has never taken me down.

You guys can settle the score in this takedown tournament. Its for the kids but im sure they would allow an exhibition grudge match. :-)

Last tournament I wrestled in was the GA Games about 15 years ago, prior to that it was the Northeastern Olympic Qualifiers in Greco in 92. Scout is in the wrong weight class and totally outgunned. I should be there watching my HS kids

I have witnesses and you haven't weighed 250lbs since 1984.
