ATT Frank Mir..

Dear Frank,

You have the hopes and fears of every MMA fan who know it existed prior to TUF riding on your shoulders.

In the way we prayed for Kimbo to be taken out, we pray for your triumph.

Sagiv Lapkin -  I've been watching MMA since UFC 3 and I definitely see Brock smashing him, and I'm ok with that.

 KIMBO vs. BROCK...

no thanks.

Lesnar is ok with me, but if he wins we will never fucking hear the end of it. It will get as stupid as Sherdog on here in the blink of an eye.

Wow, some marks take this shit way too seriously. I get this is a sport and all, but c'mon.

The world of MMA is hardly going to end if Lesnar were to win. And to some trolls here, MMA already ended with Pride's dissolution. So how would Lesnar winning make it any worse?

Not to mention, last year, Frank Mir was an awful, horrible, douchebag jock and an ugly human being that was supposed to be murdered by Nogueira. When did that change?

Lesnar is only bad because a lot of his fans a really fucking annoying.

I have been a fan of MMA for a long time, and I can't really remember anyone who inspired this level of almost religious devotion...maybe Royce or Wandy or Fedor, but I think the Lesnar shit is worse, because those guys actually have career achievements over the span of YEARS that somewhat warrant such fanaticism.

To many Lesnar fans, if you happen to think he ISN'T the greatest thing ever, you are simply stupid, gay, or a "nuthugger" for one of his opponents. The thought that you might simply not think he is perfect in every way, and might, just might, think that someone out there can beat the guy has never crossed their minds. To them, there are only two kinds of people in the world:

People who think Brock Lesnar would easily prison rape King Kong and Godzilla at the same time, and people who are fucking "haters".

chokeyou - Dear Frank,

You have the hopes and fears of every BJJ McDojo-attending MMA elitist riding on your shoulders.

Brock will kill him.  Pro Wrestling > BJJ.

Who cares.  The real Heavyweight Championship gets contested on August 1st.  Brock vs. Mir is a just a match between two guys the UFC happens to have.

I'm not going to lie and say I don't care about Mir/Lesnar II, but, yeah...anyone who thinks the winner of that fight will be the best HW in the world needs to have their head examined.

When Lesnar or Mir destroys the winner of that fight, then they can say they are the best.

And by "when" I mean never.

While the #1 HW hasnt been the UFC champ in over 5 years, this is still a big match.

I met Mir in AC once and the dude is cool as a cucumber. Whether you like his attitude or not he is confident and a dangerous opponent for anyone.

Please Frank, no kicks this time out.

I think Mir v. Barnett is a much more interesting matchup than Brock versus any of the other three.

GeneralJackCosmo - Lesnar is only bad because a lot of his fans a really fucking annoying.

THX. No other man could be fighting for the belt with such a short resume.

The fans who followed him from WWE can't have it both ways. They can try as hard as they can to pretend he was never a pro-wrestler, and that it's his outstanding college record that got him where he is, but the fact is, he fought Randy because DW and co. knew that shit would sell PPVs. Brock is a big draw BECAUSE he is a former WWE superstar.

Yes, his collegiate wrestling experience and natural athleticism is the foundation he has built upon, but NO ONE with a 2-1 pro record would have gotten to fight for the UFC title...especially not against someone like Couture...unless there was something else going on that would make that a profitable match-up for the powers that be.

Lesnar was pushed by the UFC in the same way that he was pushed by WWE. Both organizations decided that Lesnar would be a star, and they went forward from there. They MADE him a star by pushing him into PPV headliners, instead of allowing him to become one over time through a series of solid performances, like Machida or GSP.

And in both organizations, he plays the heel. Coincidence? I think not. Lesnar can be a respectful, down-to-earth guy when he wants to be, but in a lot of his interviews, especially the televised ones, he is intentionally WAY over the top. Even though MMA is real, he knows he is still playing a role. And the UFC brass wouldn't have it any other way.

If he beats Mir, they will market him as an unstoppable heel champion, which is familiar ground for him. Mark my words.

Hey, if Lesnar wins, good for him. You won't hear me crying about how Mir was robbed, or making any excuses.

Let's see if it works the same for the other side if Mir wins.
