Attended first MMA show in years..

So over the weekend, I attended my first live MMA show in a couple years. Even though it was just a local event, I wanted to share my experience on what I feel has changed in that short amount of time.

First off, I seemed to be out of dress code. Literally 90% of the males wore t-shirts of Affliction, Tapout, or another Fight Gear. Along with holy designer jeans and oversize flat billed caps tilted just off center. I got plenty of mean mugs staring me down wearing a long-sleeve polo and jeans w/o holes. The only guy dressed similar to me was the 40yo promoter.

There was lots of this "fight gear" being sold and worn, but I could not figure out where the actual gear was. All I saw was a skull/pitbull logo on t-shirts, hats, & beanies.

Many more silicon filled groupies were present strutting their stuff, but this was a good thing. Fighters deserve more sluts. However, along with sluts, come posers.

I was sitting cageside when one of these posers kept leaning over to my buddy, who is a UFC vet, and said how he was down 10 grand but he had 25 grand on this next fight. I knew his fake status because I saw him sneak up to the front row and he had a fugly wench on his lap. This was only because he didn't have a seat for her. So where can you bet thousands of dollars on local amateur fights?

On a positive note, I noticed much less comments like "kick him in the nuts, I could beat him, why doesn't he just hit him, stand up pussy, etc." I like how the popularity and knowledge of the sport has grown, but the new fans need to quit acting all hard and like they know it all.

*correction, I did attend the L.A. K-1 show over the summer, but there were nothing but Koreans there.
