How many setups do you have to get to the arm triangle choke?? I can get it from the far side and mount going to the other side to finish, and from the back . I also have gotten it from the same side with a kesagatame hold. Do you know any other setups??
On Aesopian's website there is some dude that shows a variation to finish that choke when the guy's defending by "answering the phone". It's been working like a charm.
Andre, what do you think of the set-up for the arm-triange from the mount that Saulo shows on his no-gi set? It looks like a slam dunk but I struggle with using my knee to push his arm up, and even if I do, then I feel completely unbalanced and I get bridged over.
shadallion, I used it before, but didnt see a benefit in doing it that way versus the way I do it with my hands clasped. I felt secure when I did it, but I was doing it against a lower belt and havent tried it against anyone purple and above.

ps. When your opponent is "answering the phone", you can also try
Andre's Americana - keeping his shoulder locked in place with your head
and shoulder, while using your free hand to grab his wrist and perform an
Americana armlock. While I haven't been able to get the submission
consistently, sometimes threatening it is enough for him to change his
arm position - and you go back to the choke. Not sure if Andre still has
that pictorial around anywhere, but it was a good one.
