You've been very vocally critical of boxing for failing to make Pacquiao/Mayweather, and now the window for that fight may have closed; certainly the window for it being anywhere near as anticipated as it would have been. And equally critical of Vadim and co. for screwing up Brock vs Fedor or Fedor vs anyone in the UFC.
Back up the Brinks truck to these guys' houses. This fight has to be made before either loses and before Anderson gets too old.
Don't let another MMA superfight -- and possibly the greatest MMA superfight -- slip away.
I fully support this thread. What use is a monopoly if you can't take out for a spin every now and then, ie, make super fights happen regardless of what fighters want?

I rather to see Cain Vs Jones...its about time for Jones to fight someone who is in his size (oh wait he is not...but he still makes Jones piss his pants every time he mentions him) After Cain said he is open to fight him, Jones started attacking Matt Mitrione to fish for an easy fight with someone who buckle and turtle when hurt and stop once and for all the HW debates the same way Silva escaped the LHW debates by fighting cans
Man actually try imagining this gift happening. Can you imagine if Anderson actually pulls it off - finished Jon... That would have to be the greatest moment in combat sports history.
Jon is such a beast - I feel cheap and dirty for all of us wanting to put Anderson's legacy on the line for our sheer enjoyment. At the same time I think he is so good that he could actually finish Jones.

Jones never said he wanted to fight Mitrione, did he?

The only way Cain beats Jones is if he brings a weapon or a friend into the cage with him.
People rave about Cains striking but Jones has better skills standing and a huge reach over him. He also has dangerous feet, Cain shouldn't be able to out strike Jon.
Who has better wrestling might matter but not if its only employed after someone gets hurt.
I don't see how Cain is going to get Jones down and keep him there long enough to do anything relevant.
I give Jones the edge in takedowns because he's better at a wider variety of moves from judo to wrestling he's not just ok at trips and throws, they are weapons you need to be mindful of.
Jones has a better sub game from what we have seen, I don't feel anyone would be able to finish by sub without the other guy being hurt first.
Jones would come in looking to use his reach and footwork to keep Cain at bay and just pick him apart.
Cain IMO would need Jones to get injured in the fight or a ko to win and while he is a badass I don't think the odds are in his favor.
Anderson would probably beat GSP and Jones would probably beat Anderson.
Cain and Bones after Bones filled into heavyweight would be much more interesting imo.
I agree with this. As much as people bag on the AS vs GSP fight, it could be justified if Anderson could cut weight and make 170 or an agreed catch weight. There is no chance Jones is dropping any weight and we are therefore talking about the best 205er fighting the best 185er at 205lbs. Doesn't sound like a particularly fair fight to me.
