If you haven't heard yet, FILA has formed the World Grappling Committee to begin sanctioning Grappling worldwide. A national governing body under FILA is being formed called Grappling USA. The ISWA organization will be going away and some of its members along with many others are coming together to form Grappling USA.

We are looking for reputable people involved with Grappling to help us create regional and state governing bodies. We will be holding the first of several regional meetings on Feb 3rd at 6pm in Bel Air, MD (location TBD). There will be other regional meetings in the southeast, midwest, west and northwest.

The meeting will cover FILA's role in Grappling, the formation of Grappling USA, rules, tournaments, etc. If you are interested in being involved or having events sanctioned by FILA and Grappling USA please contact Will Townsend at willtownsend@iswa.us or call 757-450-7469.

is this the same committee that is goignto be taking away a lot of leg lock submission because they are too "dangerous"

some guy came to our gym talking about how soon you wont be able to compete unless you are affiliated with some certain group or something and how in the future you wont be able to do certain submissions at all such as the heel hook and certain others.

at some age and skill levels there will be illegal moves

This guy that came to our gym was talking like they were taking certain moves such as the heel hook completely out of grappling all together. Didn't matter if you were a black belt or could even spell jiu jitsu

Wasnt one of our people but the heel hook would only be allowed in the Senior division.
