I want to put my record player up on a square corner shelf but the damn thing is 24lbs. I thought about hooking up a wire anchor from the floating corner, into the wall above it, but that would probably get in the way.
What if I hooked up wire from the floating corner of the shelf and screwed it straight into the ceiling? Think it would hold with some support wedges or something underneath?
Can't you anchor a shelf into the studs? I've wall mounted a TV that had to be 30-40 pounds, and it's held up for years
That's what I planned to do at first but I thought it might not hold up since there's so much weight floating out there, unlike a TV mount. Think it'll still be okay though?
If it falls, it'll probably bash my head in so I might need to check our convo history first..

If you are seriously trepedatious about mounting it with just a flat plane off of two studs, being down two support “wedges” off the front back towards the wall.

Are you telling me there aren't any private contractors outside of your local Home Depot who wouldn't hesitate to jump out of the back of a truck for an opportunity?
