Attn: Sanctioned States

I have a question for those of you who operate out of sanctioned states..

What are the rules on a competitor (in this case amateur) competing the week before or after a fight?

Like say I book a guy and I find out he is competing the week prior in another fight...

I know tko's and ko's would mean an automatic temporary suspension but what about cases where they arent tko'ed or ko'ed?

Thanx yall...

p.s. TRAIN JUDO!

Varies from State to State. Some ACs put an automatic week suspension on everyone, some don't.

Thanx Kirik...

Does how they lose matter beyond tko's and ko's?

Like say they get neck cranked, etc?

Also, lets say a guy wins but takes heavy shots in the fight...do they have any rules in effect for this?

In Nebraska, a fighter cannot compete within 7 days of their last fight (even if they won in 5 seconds). If that fighter was a contracted pro, they would be punishable for signing the contract and taking a fight within 7 days.

If the fighter fought on a Friday, they would be eligible to compete on the following Saturday.

In Nebraska, the fighter is not technically suspended, they just will not be approved for competition. So, if they went to another state, it would be up to that state if they could compete.

Gotcha, thanx VooDoo

Running into some issues with guys on my card now competing the week prior and want to do what is right by the sport being that there are no laws here what so ever to protect them or the sport...(So I feel its my job to enforce what is right)...

SC has a mandatory 7 day suspension, I beleive the other states that use ISCF as the sanctioning org (Tenn, Oklahoma, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Nevada, Missouri, Louisiana, Indiana) have that rule as well. Phone Post

No set rules in SC beyond mandatory suspension for 7 days for all fighters, and mandatory suspensions for tko or ko. Ringside MD has ability to extend suspensions or assign suspensions to either fighter if he feels it is warranted Phone Post

If there are no laws, I would just allow them to compete if they are fine, if injured, don't let them fight. That's my opinion.
