So this story was particularly interesting to me because I lived and worked at this hostel last year. Without knowing anything about the guy, I can kinda see how staying there would drive people crazy. It's a tiny little town in the middle of nowhere, with no internet, nothing around for entertainment and full of bogan farmers (Alcoholic/ drug addicted hillbillies).
You basically have to work 8-12 hours a day in the searing heat, picking fruit while getting shouted at by these hillbillies.
When I stayed there, I witnessed a brutal beating where a guy, also from Marseille, beat the crap out of an English guy who kissed his girl.
