Bang: TJ would KO Cruz, Conor

<p>Top MMA coach Duane &#39;Bang&#39; Ludwig did multiple media appearances recently and discussed the prospects of protege UFC bantamweight T.J. Dillashaw vs. former division champ Dominick Cruz, and vs. interim featherweight champion Conor McGregor.</p>

Ludwig thinks Cruz would be lose in two.

"I want that fight to happen, 100 percent," said Ludwig to Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, as transcribed by Adam Guillen Jr. twitter.com/AdamGuillenJr for MMAMania http://www.mmamania.com/2015/7/27/9048593/ufc-duane-ludwig-sees-t-j-dillashaw-stopping-dominick-cruz-in-two-rounds-mma. "I think he matches up well. I see TJ knocking him out within two rounds, stopping the fight within two rounds. It will be because of something that we'll train, specifically. There's things. I think differently and I know my athletes. There is another level to martial arts available now. He looked great against Mizugaki. He looked phenomenal, then he gets hurt again.

"But if the fight gets booked, we would have to have another guy on the back burner, as was the case with Aldo vs. McGregor having Chad Mendes. If they give Cruz a tune-up fight, that would be fair. But this fight needs to happen because Cruz never lost his title. He was stripped. So, you have to do what is ethically right, and that fight needs to happen anyways because it's a big fight and to make sure that it's truly undisputed. Obviously TJ is the champion now, but there is a little bit of gray area now, just because of Cruz."

"The things he does well and is successful with other guys he is not going to be able to do with TJ. That's the thing. What TJ is very good at, and I am serious, TJ can knock him out in the second round. He can even knock him out in the first round, but I see him stopping it in the second round. Once he finds the timing and accuracy of the round, in the second round he is going to take him out. It's the different things Cruz does that is going to give TJ the opening to stop it. There is something specific, very specific, and it's pretty easy. I've been seeing it for years, he's been doing the same thing for years."

Ludwig also appeared on InsideBJJ http://www.insidebjj.com/2015/07/26/190-duane-bang-ludwig-javier-vazquez-rose-gracie/ and had a similar discussion about McGregor.

“I think that would obviously be a very entertaining fight,” said Ludwig. “Conor can barely make 145. TJ is not a big bantamweight. I would like the fight with TJ and Conor. I already know how the fight would play out. TJ would knock him out.”

I honestly don't see it that way.
I saw a slow barao tagging TJ a few times.
Cruz rarely gets hit, but time will tell when this two match up. Phone Post 3.0

I'm still sticking with Cruz, but fuck me if TJ didn't erase that deficit with his last fight.

Tj gets rekt by CMac and Dom plain and simple. Phone Post 3.0

I actually think he could beat both. I dont think mma has seen anything like this kid yet. I see him going on to be one of the greats Phone Post 3.0

Cruz got dropped more than once by Faber in their last fight. TJ's striking is better than Faber's.

TJ will get hit though, and probably taken down by Cruz. Even an exhausted Barao took him off his feet, so you have to think Cruz will get him there too, and Full Camp Cruz will do better at holding him there.

I'm might get flamed here for this, but right now TJ is just a better overall fighter than Dominick. Cruz is phenomenal, has an excelent fighting IQ and he's overall one of the best fighters to ever do it in the cage.

This being said, TJ's game is predicated on the same foundations as Dom's, but he does it way more efficiently. TJ's uses feints and footwork in a much more effiecient and threatening way than Cruz. TJ's striking is just outright more lethal, and he hadn't been taken down in the UFC prior to his last bout with Barão, were he got taken down for a brief moment. I believe Dom uses his footwork better for takedown setups, but TJ's takedown defense along with his own footwork and movement can nullify the wrestling part of Dominick's game.

I really hope this fight happens sooner rather than later.

TJ, Dom & (prime) Anderson are in another league where footwork is concerned. TJ vs Dom is THE fight to make right now, TJ vs Connor...i'm not so sure, i've never seen them stand next to each other but i get the feeling Connor is way bigger.

I don't know if Dom's absense from the cage is going to pay a toll. But a fresh Cruz would win imo.

And what the f*ck is up with Barao? Is the weight cut really affecting him? Because he looked gassed already in round 1. Props to TJ anyway! Kid's a beast!

He is a lot bigger, TJ has said himself that he could make 125lb if he wanted. Having said that I think that TJs speed and game are a cut above even Conor's right now. Nobody at BW wants to stand with him right now Phone Post 3.0

I think Conor is too big for him Phone Post 3.0

Logic? Conor walked through the punches of the hardest hitting FW like they were fleas wings. TJ couldn't put Barao down with 20 unanswered punches, but he KO's CMaC?

Oki Doki! Phone Post 3.0

It wouldn't be fair to see TJ against Conor. TJ looks like a little kid next to him. He might dance around for a while but once one of those lefts hit him - its lights out.

Lmfao delusional Phone Post 3.0

Conor would KO Dillashaw and Bang one after the other, then be properly warmed up for Aldo.

Sounds pretty accurate VU Phone Post 3.0

He needs to beat Dodson first.... Phone Post 3.0

I miss Cruz.

Love watching that guy fight.

And then he's going to mess up dos anjos, then lawler. And then weidman better watch his back. I love bang but he's starting to piss me off with this shit. I don't see tj beating cruz Phone Post 3.0
