One of our correspondents had the chance to catch up with Josh Barnett. Here Josh speaks about Overeem leaving the organization and the fact that the tournament should affect the world rankings

mdh2k10 - well the number one and two guys ranked in the ufc currently have a grand total of 4 career top ten wins
But much more relative current wins than Barnett.
Barnett has had a much longer career than either jds or Cain so obviously he has more accumulated wins. Winner of the sf gp doesn't get to #1 unless they fight and beat the winner of Cain/jds. 
Barnett is trying to pro wrestling hype himself into higher rankings than he deserves

It never really is in the tops of any division rankings. Fact of the matter is, you don't leap frog the #1 ranked fighter by winning a tourney where every participant is ranked lower than the #1.

I'd be curious to see how Bigfoot would do on the bottom under Mir.

everybody talks about kyle dropping him but kyle hit bigfoot with a ton of shots on the ground trying to finish him. Most on the button
Mir could grind a ud, but I don't trust him in fights. He wilts too easily
It's easy to wilt when you are taking hammer fists from Brock and a flush shot from carwin.
Not saying Mir would beat Bigfoot necessarily, but Bigfoot is not better st every aspect of mma than Mir is.
I think it would be a close fight.

It'll at least put him in better standing for a UFC return and I would like to see him against the UFC HWs.

The winners of each of those fights fight for UFC title.
^ Granted, that shelves Overeem for too long, but it would put a rest to who the best HW in the world is, if it followed that timeline.
mike kyle was blasting the hell out BigSilva in their fight for 2 rounds then silva somehow turned it...
i dont think Big S is all that much better ( if not on par )with mir . i would like to see this matchup tho
