Who has one? Pros and cons?
Been using a corded one that I really enjoy, but dealing with the cord is a pain.
Read some stuff online about battery types and whatnot....
Do tell.
I don't have personal experience with it, but I would just assume that the power would suck horse cock.
Would you consider a battery powered lawn mower?
Had battery powered one...was horrible. Would only last like 5-10 minutes and then take all day to recharge. Bought an electric one and way better. I imagine gas would be good too.
Thanks for sharing. I actually like the corded one a lot, minus the cord. Has more than enough power.
Looks like the battery ones last about an hour, which is plenty of time.
Had a Ryobi one. It was worthless.
Government Cheese - Had a Ryobi one. It was worthless.Me too. Not enough power or time with it. Now I use a Toro with a cord.

BRZ -Same here. Got a Toro with cord. Works like a champ.Government Cheese - Had a Ryobi one. It was worthless.Me too. Not enough power or time with it. Now I use a Toro with a cord.

the charge time drops off dramatically, and the cost of replacement batteries is about the same as the leaf blower, IME.
Ya, unless he's getting an amazing one, it's not even close to an hour. After I had mine for MAYBE a year, no way it was longer than 10 minutes, prob closer to 5. And again, it would take the rest of the day to charge. I'd never buy another battery powered one.
One does not simply blow leaves in August, before the leaves have fallen. Tell us why you really need a leaf blower.

The Tiger Man - Battery sucks. If you don't want to pollute go with a cord if you don't care gasYea cause electricity doesn't come fossil fuels...

Craftsman one had very lame batteries.
I have the worx weedwacker and blower set and so far it is neat. I had old gas weedwackers and an edger that had issues. Gas is awesome but I didnt think it was worth it as my yard isnt that huge of a task.
Smith1234 - I bough a battery weed wacker, lawn mower and hedge trimmer. All are great.
I wouldn't get a leaf blower. I actually left off the list the "patio sweeper" I got that is battery powered and it does that well.
There is one battery powered blower that might be worth it for leaves. Makita makes one and it's like 400 and can't remember if the battery is extra.
I actually even had a small 18v battery powered chainsaw that worked surprisingly well and cut much bigger trees and bushes than i expected but only lasted about 15 min or so.
Gas

Sadly, this is correct in a lot of cases.
Still, it depends what you are looking to do.
If it's just going to be used to blow some grass clippings off the driveway, you can probably get away with it.
If it's used for anything to do with leaves--or grass clippings on the lawn, gas is the way to go.
Electric yard tools just made a huge leap with the Ryobi 40V stuff. I recently picked up the hedge clipper and the higher end line trimmer.
The hedge clipper works damn close to a gas one. The trimmer, however, is not even close.
If you want to do it right, get the Redmax backpack blower (gas) and be done with it.
Got a Ryobi 18V. Also works as an electric.
Already used it and its good enough for what I need.
I have a 20 volt black and Decker. No complaints.
Ive got a Black & Decker 18 volt. Barely does shit. Good for light stuff like blowing off the porch, or small amounts of dry leaves. Always find myself needing to use a rake instead.
I have a cordless weed whacker with a good battery. Works well. Last battery was under powered. Tried an electric mower. My lawn giggled at it. It was dead in 2 minutes. My blower is my wife. She sweeps up all loose grass and weeds. She blows pretty well also.
BathSaltFaceFeeder -That's pretty much all I care to do with mine. Clean up after cutting the grass, all the shit that falls from the sycamores.

Always just mulch my leaves.
