As the Assault Weapon Ban expired on Monday, homicides by bayonet skyrocketed. By Wednesday afternoon, 20,000 Americans were killed by bayonet.
One provision of the Assault Weapon Ban forbade the attachment of bayonets to rifles. Without the law, say gun control experts, nothing has stopped criminals from bayoneting their victims.
“ I’m thrilled the law has expired,” said a murderer who spoke under conditions of anonymity. “I always preferred to kill by bayonet, but Clinton’s Assault Weapons Ban made it impossible. Now the ban has been lifted, I can go back to being a murdering criminal the way I really enjoy.”
