Any possibility of Burroughs/Askren match hurting Bens stock in mma? Say the match goes and Ben gets massacred by Jordan…I’m sure Bens newfound Mma fans will be paying attention to this wrestling match…Askren is said to be the best of the best though in Mma in terms of amateur wtestling so if he gets torched by Burroughs, that can’t look good…?

only among idiots.

The Floyd loss didn’t hurt Conor’s stock. Burroughs has tech’d Dake and Talor before. And Askren’s wrestling achievements speak for themselves: the Hodge; the Olympic trials; the pin record. Losing to a GOAT can’t take those away.

noob MMA fans who don’t know Askren’s background have no idea this match is even happening. It does not effect a single viewer in either direction.

great point.

anyone who knows who Burroughs is understands what wrestling him means. anyone who doesn’t will not have heard about the match.

Sub.

I'm sure after Ben loses I'll be reading a bunch of messages from idiot haters regarding it. Anyone who knows anything knows this is Freestyle and Ben is outgunned here. He's a dead fish in the water. If it were Folkstyle rules it would be more competitive. Alas, here I will sit, reading some of the dumbest shit imaginable from the haters.

Yeah....his funk style works better with folk.  Don’t care about the haters - this is huge for wrestling promotion/publicity.

Nice. They have had some great exchanges. All in good fun.

Good info.

I’m a year long subscriber to Flowrestling and I have access to everything. That’s all I know.

wiggum - My predictions are below. I skip matches where I don't know enough to make an informed prediction.

Mueller v. Pic: They are near equal in freestyle (Mueller’s higher NCAA finish notwithstanding). But, Mueller has some more notable freestyle success, so I favor him.

Ashnault v. Green: Incredibly interesting match. Green just beat Nolf, but lost to a last second comeback in the finals of the US Open. He is a multi-time world medalist, but he does seem like he is losing a step. Ashnault is a stud and his position is excellent. Still, it’s hard to pick him over a guy who is two weeks off beating Nolf. Pick: Green.

Snyder beats Randhawa.

Gwiz beats White.

Colon v. Suriano is really interesting. Colon’s best weapons are on top, and it’s possible that he isn’t able to take down Suriano. But, at this point, he is too hot and too good not to be favored.

Taylor and Cox run through their opponents.

Yianni D. v. Bajrang is the best match of the night and it’s not close. Bajrang has been wrestling out of this world recently and his pace is remarkable. But, Yianni just beat Oliver, Molinaro, and Zain–an incredible accomplishment. Bajrang’s best weapon–pace–shouldn’t matter too much against a guy who doesn’t tire. I think the keys to beating Yianni are upper body attacks or doubles and I’m not sure Bajrang brings that. I’m picking Yianni to beat the world number one.

Burroughs beats Askren, but that doesn’t mean I’m not exciting. Askren is always dangerous.

Explain how you are exciting?

What?

What?

In your last paragraph you state that you’re exciting. We want to know how that is. Can you give a particular example of an instance in which you were exciting?

^^It’s a typo. Thanks for contributing.

I'm looking forward to this
