Chris is a nice guy, he has an emotion inducing story and is a great Champion and fighter.
The reality is that people aren't buying, what Chris Weidman is selling.
Not sure if it's the injury setbacks or just the fact that Weidman is a newcomer in the sport, but Belfort as Champ is what the sport needs.
Face it. Controversy sells and Vitor has the most dominantly impressive resume @ 185 lbs.
With all due respect, can you think of a more generic guy to be Champ than Chris Weidman?
Being the best and beating the best isn't enough, just look at Mighty Mouse Johnson.
Here's to hoping that Belfort can get the belt and bring some excitement back to 185 lbs.
Dammit CRE. I really want Vitor to win. Now you've gone and ruined it.
How many times do the fans want to watch the "bigger, stronger, faster" guy dominate a fight?
Chris is a Heavyweight, but he can make the cut to 185 lbs by nearly killing himself to make weight.
Benjamin Belfort is a statistical anomaly, he seems to age in reverse.
A guy who relies on his technique, heart and explosive speed to best giants with questionable T/E ratios.
20 years in the game.
