With all this negative attention in the News and BJJ Community I figured I'd share a positive story.
I was a blue belt and 16 years old hired to teach at the time, I visited a rival School to roll.
The Instructor was a highly skilled Black Belt and had a very good Purple running Beginner Classes.
When we rolled I tapped his Blues, ran through his Purple subbing him several times in a few minutes and he was intrigued!
He then challenged me to a roll and I caught him twice! I will not say his name because
there were threats of guns and violence, later, but he apologized and told me, "He loved me" 2 years later.
But I will tell you he had direct ties to Yamasaki Academy.
I knew I had done something special as a 16 year old and able to submit a good BJJ Black Belt! I went on to submit many more in Competition, against all odds, when they said I couldn't do it, alone!
This isn't a silly markerting gimmick and you don't have to buy anything!
You can do anything if you just believe, I always believed in myself!

when your that gifted it's hard to see how others are not...Many moons ago I used to train with a very prominent former UFC fighter, he and his brother were bjj whizzes right from the start...Within 2 weeks of training they were hanging with the academy purple belts...within a few months they were on par with the academy brown belt (this was the late 90's early 2000's) I guess the point of my story is that there were plenty of guys who trained just as long and just as hard and came nowhere as close to being as talented on that mat after 10 years of training compared to these two guys 6 months of training. Some people just have an affinity to it like some people are math geniuses.
You obviously are like a math genius on the mat...But please stay humble... Don't be a Lloyd! lol
I had this conversation the other day with one of my Students
He wanted to enroll in acting even though he was more committed to Martial Arts!
I said "How are you going to be successful or the best if you are 100% at one thing?"
"Wouldn't that make you 50/50?"
If you are committed to one thing, and one thing only put it above all else, girls, drinking, partying even having to be selfish with family and tme you will be more likely to succeed!
