Bellator battle with its fighters

Drewout - This is a business, they have every right to match his offer.

they never even gave him a fight...  they never promoted the guy... how the heck is it right to have a matching clause on the guy?

Bellator could go around signing guys left and right and keep them on the shelf and then "release" them...  and if they become names on there own then bellator can excercise it's matching rights.

they pulled the same crap on Jonathan Brookins.

A proper manager or attorney would have made sure he had a timeline to fight, got a signing bonus & had an out. He signed the contract, there is no victim here.

I know Jonathan from the old Florida shows. He is a great guy, but same thing. If you sign a contract it is a legal contractual agreement. If you don't agree with the terms then don't sign the contract.

Business is Business -

Now in my opinion should a promotion work with their athletes in a mutually respective and honorable way yes. In some cases should they let the fighters go yes, but you cannot always blame the promotion when the athletes sign the contracts.
