I was surprised how cool he was. Just watched him on JRE. Shame hes such a boring fighter even though he’s finished 8 of his last 9 fights (yes I included the eye

You met him?
Malvert the Janitor -You met him?
From his public online persona I thought he might be a dick but he came across as pretty humble and I would be happy if he made it in the ufc now. Made me want to learn more about folkstyle wrestling too
Smart dude and very articulate.

He always got a lot of love in St Louis during his wrestling career...
He was/is loved big time by wrestling fans. He turned heel for his mma career. It’s been mentioned in here a lot Hendricks got a lot of love when he was doing well in the ufc and he was one of the most hated guys in college wrestling lol
I really never cared for askren. The podcast changed that. He seemed like a pretty decent fella.
Wouldn't mind seeing him in the UFC. People would finally see he's not a top 10 welterweight.

Fun podcast to listen too
GOAT St. Pierre - The American Sakuraba
Well said
I’ve never seen a boring Ben Askren fight. But I guess maybe some people can’t wrap their head around whet MMA is vs. Kickboxing with takedowns. I find the latter boring myself.
I think it's weird that people call him boring but praise khabib
I miss Sean, Funky, and the Baddest Man…
Ben really knew how to tell it like it is.
The only things I'd ever heard about him I heard here on the OG.
I left the interview thinking:
-This dude is probably one the smartest MMA fighters in the world.
-He could potentially be a much better commentator than his UFC counterparts
-If you didn't know he was an MMA fighter you would just think he was an expert at some other field that Joe has on.
He's bright, down to earth, thinks outside the box... One of my favorite JRE interviewees a s now I think it's a damn shame he will never have UFC fame

You are consistently negative about Askren. Bitter even. Why?
Halfway through right now, really impressed with him.
