If you guys are fans of Game of Thrones, and need a game to play that can really draw you in, go on the Steam sale right now, pick up Mount and Blade Warband, and then dowload the Clash of Kings mod. This game is fucking immense, not the greatest in terms of graphical value, but you start out picking the type of character you have (determines starting stats and money) and then go out and either start putting together your own army, or you can go and join up with basically any army in Westeros or Essos.
I'm currently 20 hours into a game where I started building my own army, met up with Tywin Lannister, who offered to give me a small village and make me a member of the Westerlands. I'm rolling with a very small army right now, as I just got my ass handed to me by Maege Mormont who came after me after I took out a couple of different Frey armies. The battle system is kind of a mix between a total war game and Morrowind, the hit detection needs some work, but it's still pretty cool to come flying in on your horse and drive your lance into someone and drop them right away.
Lrrr Ruler of Omicron Persei 8 - Sounds awesome. Is it full-scale? Still in development or a full release?
I've played it off and on for awhile. It's a full release mod and is pretty fun. Battles are large scale and it's fun hacking people down as they battle with other people. I think another mount and blade game was announced but is still a long way out.
No. Mount and blade mods are a snap to install. Just unzip the file and place the folder in the modules folder in the mount and blade folder. Then just select it in the launcher.

Oh and a hint for early game, go to Kings Landing, go to the castle, talk to Bronn, he'll tell you to talk to Tyrion, go to the tavern, and then go upstairs and talk to him, he'll give you a quest that lands you good armor. Oh, and make sure to click gather companions in the options when you make your character, it really helps to be able to pick up squires and such at taverns for cheap.
