You beat me to it, nicely played sir.
Ringside, Title, Faritex
I'm a fan of the uppercut bags personally....
I just hung this double-ended bastard in my basement and the quality is pretty darn good imo -
Im looking for a heavy bag filled with something other than shredded cotton which lumps and settles inconsistantly. I used to train on a cork core bag that had a lot of recoil and remained solid forever but cant find anyone who makes anything like that now.
never thought of cork. i like it! where can you get a bunch of cork chunks? was it just a bunch of wine corks or something, or was it a solid sheet like a tube inserted inside the skin of the bag
oh, man that sounds kinda dirty now that i re-read it.

it was a solid core of rolled cork sheet surounded by high density foam it was heavy and gave a huge recoil. Each bags weighed over 200 lbs. Ive gotta go back to work I will check this thread later...

I have never bought one, but I was looking to replace my basic Everlast that has grown lumpy with one of these.
Maybe someone here has personal experience.
you guys are classy...I think ours are filled with t-shirts and saw dust...
The cork bag sounds cool, All my heavy bag is filled with is broken dreams and beanie babies.
we unstuffed one at my old gym to move around the sand bags (after 2 broken toes). it was stuffed with shredded old quilts. and we found a used bandaid. it was disgusting, still a little traumatized.
Without a doubt the best heavy bag is cleto reyes. They are filled with leftover pieces of leather. Make sure you get the heavier one. Fairtex, Ringside are execellent, second best!
Reyes I forgot about. Prolly the highest quality product on the market. One of the few companies that doen't (I don't think they do anyway) outsource their products to China.
Still made in good old Mexico. The Thai companies are still true to their products too for the most part. Most of the other biggies Everlast Ringside etc. are China made :(
Get a s-load of denim and fill the bag with that. Compress it with weights... make sure you put enought denim in it so the weigt isn't sitting in the middle where you punch or kick. The bag we had was hard as hell. Use a 6 footer.

Same here
I like balazs bags: http://www.balazsboxing.com
All their bags are vinyl coated canvas (not leather), but their 130lb banana bag had uniform hardness, it didn't settle, and the skin held up nicely after a year of daily use. If you've got $800 to spend, I personally recommend the 300lb big boy; the best heavybag I've ever used.
From experience, CSI bags aren't bad. The black ones (synthetic leather?) have held up better than the old blue ones (leather?). The skin on the old blue ones turned into sandpaper. Tore most of the hair & a lot of the skin off of my left leg after only a round or two of use.
In the past I thought fairtex banana bags were a little soft, but the new ones look a lot more like Windy bags. I'd always heard Windy bags were hard as heck, but broke in nicely.
Twins always makes good stuff; only knock I've ever heard on them was for their velcro - i see their bags in a lot of thai videos.
Hey, Coach Mike where you based out of these days? I met you in 2003 in New Jersey with Coach Julio (Trujillo). I've been living in Texas the past few years. My folks live in Houston, might stop by if you're still down that way.
Nicest one I ever used on four continents was Reyes.
I take and empty one, and add a combination of tire retread and old clothes. Local retread place just lets me show with a heavy bag and take what i want for free, as they sell it by the ton. I got that from Mo Smoth's old trainer Kirk Jensen.
