I have trained with a bunch of guys from other schools. I try not to rep my school to much because I respect the other gyms, but business is business : )
Domingo- I used to train with Art Fernandez a lot when he was still in Denver. I'm not sure how long you have been with HA. Art was a great guy.
I've only been at HA since February...and I'm one of the guys who's only in a couple times a week. I've only got my striped white belt, so it'll probably be years before I even go for a blue :P
Right now my classes are primarily with Paul, Anthony, Alan, and Jason (Lee).
I trained a bit in College (mid to late 90's) and I was at Ruiz/Gumm's back when I first moved here in 2002. Unfortunately my job changed my hours and I had to stop going after only about 6 months. It was a really good experience, though.
Looking back, if I had stuck with BJJ dating back to my college days, who knows what belt I could've made it to? Still Paul gives me motivation since he didn't start until he was 32 (my age) and he just got promoted to brown.
Yeah, I heard Ring of Fire gym (not Sven's promotion) was closing. Scuttlebutt at work from guys who train elsewhere. Didn't know if it was true or not.
Gunslinger20 - But listen to Chris Camozzi over anyone who posts. Chris is one of the best fighters Colorado has to offer that isn't in the big show YET.... he'll be there soon. He'd be the man in the know when it comes to this.
Good luck to you Chris.
Thanks, I appreciate the kind words. Easton is definetly good too. Denver has a ton of reputable gyms.
Like I said, try the gyms out and join the one that feels right to you. Most will allow you to try a class for free, so take advantage of that and see for yourself.
grapplers edge is good too. i havent trained there but i know alot of the guys that fight out of there and they are all cool. most gyms let you try out classes. gumm mma lets you do a week free. we have a ton of people all ages that train as a hobby, not to fight.
