Best SHTF investment strategy?

It seems like there are lots of things stacking up against the US economy right now (massive debt, corona viruses, socialist presidential candidates, etc.), so what strategy should one apply to insure one profits from a potential economic downturn?

Will gold go through the roof? Gas or oil? Crypto?

Can't go wrong with bullets and freeze dried food.

33.333% S&P 500
33.333% International Stocks
33.333% US Bonds

That will get you through the long term and you will do very well

Gold seems to be the go-to hedge in downward turns.

USA companies would be trash, but if the Democrats banned fracking, you'll see 3 digit oil overnight.

Based on recent historical examples you should strongly consider investing in whatever assets get hammered during the down turn.

Recent examples people that bought real estate during troubled times.

Also people that went heavy in stocks when the markets went down.

Both of these options did well when things rebounded.

If you are worried about real long term maybe consider rental property.

Holy shit. I see a ghost. I didn't know you were still around. Still routing aircraft?

The only good thing about Bernie is I would absolutely load up if the stock market got obliterated, everything would be majorly on sale.

I'd yolo puts on ETF's, then buy the dip.

I bought 10 shares UVXY a few days ago... Last major recession they were at like 55k a share.

What is UVXY? I looked it up but have no idea what I read.

It's an etf that is supposed to trade at 3x the movement of vix short term futures.

Essentially expected volatility.

It's not for the faint hearted. It can drop as fast as it rises.

Know the risks.

imo gold is a safer long term play. Or you could play a proxy like a mine.

In 2009 it seems like even gold went down at first as the USD spikef

Thank you for the information.

Hey, folks, look! Other than Ironhands referring to Naderhood as a ghost, no one has called anyone mean names yet, and there are over 1500 views. Naderhood much have brought a touch of the old OG back with him.

Not bad... for a ghost.
