Best way to store revolvers long term?

Heading home to help my mom take care of my Dad’s guns.  She knows how to shoot, but rarely does.  She mostly likes having them nearby because they remind her of him.

I normally just wipe them down with a dry cloth.  Is there a better way to care for them?  They’re old Colt blued revolvers.

They're stored in soft cases in cool, dry places.

IN A BARREL OF OIL

In a. bag of. rice.

Don’t leave them in a soft fur lined case. I pitted one doing that.

Lubriplate 930-AA.

I found it while looking for a Waffenfett substitute.

I've never had any issues.

keister them

Lube them down with a long term gun oil and throw them in freezer bags.

That’s good to know.  I think one of them is.  What would you suggest?

Will wrapping it up in an old towel or t shirt help?

Thanks.  Is it worth it to throw a desiccant pack in there or is that overkill?

dip it in cosmoline comrade

In the butthole. Just be sure to remove the gerbil first.

Done.  I put it in a gun sock First and threw in a couple desiccant packs afterwards.  It’s a Trooper II with an 8” barrel so I had to use gun grease
