Went to 3 combo boxing/mma events this weekend.
Most of the boxers got hit and fall back, wobble to one knee, or fell down and took a 9 second break to get focused.
mma fighters got kicked, punched and elbowed in the face more times then boxers got hit in the face. Never seem to effect them as much as boxers.
I truly believe that MMA guys tend to be better fighters. Just my opinion here, but some of what you saw had to do with the MMA fighters not punching as hard. Again, that's not the case for all MMA fighters but as a general rule it is true. Doesn't mean they're not better fighters. Just means that guys that spend their lives mastering the art of punching are usually better punchers. One should expect more quality punching from them.
truly you both have dizzying intellects.
The MMA guys are getting hit by pitty-pat MMA fighters. The boxers are getting hit by boxers who actually know how to punch.
We saw what happens when a boxer hits an MMA fighter in the Sylvia v Mercer bout.
DW - truly you both have dizzying intellects. You must give credit for your quote, although not an exact quote.
Princess BrideVizzini: Not remotely. Because iocane comes from Australia, as
everyone knows, and Australia is entirely peopled
with criminals, and criminals are used to having
people not trust them, as you are not trusted by me,
so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of
you.Dread Pirate Roberts: Truly, you have a dizzying intellect.
"Truly you both have dizzying intellects."
Good post. Just one of 6,323 incredible ones, no doubt.

seeing as how you have 112 posts, and I can only make inferences from the ones I have seen....
at least 2/112 of your posts are completely retarded.
"I truly believe that MMA guys tend to be better fighters. "
Yes it totally depends on the sport you compete in. Not the individual.
But wait! guys like Marcus Davis, Nick Diaz, Chris Lytle and dozens of others have competed in both MMA and boxing! They must be better fighters than themselves, right?
Hold on for a damned second!
"Just means that guys that spend their lives mastering the art of punching are usually better punchers. One should expect more quality punching from them."
We got some earth shattering news from this TUF noob! Thank you soooooo much for that revelation, I now understand the difference bewtween boxing and MMA fighters abilities.
You're right. I should have just bashed the thread starter indie-rock-snob style for having the audacity to post something that was beneath your intellect instead of responding with something that seems self evident. You've proven your worth yet again.
well im glad that you understand that and have taken the high road.
But the OP is trolling and its obvious. Your dumbass responds to it seriously and posts an answer so obvious that me and every other person who have been on this website more than a few years are sick of reading it.
So I post a little shit talk, which is a common response to troll threads around here.
You can have your recycled and dumbed down boxing/mma conversation with the retard if you want and I can post shit talk. yay free fucking country.
Not a problem. I defer to to the veteran of the internet message board. You've learned much in your many years spent on this site.
Absolutely no way of knowing without seeing a boxer and an mma guy get hit with the exact same punch.
this is the dumbest question ever
posted the questions because most of the boxers said they visit the underground. Just seeing who are boxers or mma fighters.
Option A. Well Mark Hunt seems to take a better shot then Ricky Hatton.. I guess mma fighters have better chins.
Option B On the other Hand Mike Tyson seemed to take a better shot then Olaf Alfonso so perhaps boxing has the better chins.
Option C. Wow this thread is stupid, chin strength is dependent on the individual not the sport

We also saw what happens when a non-boxer hits an MMA fighter in the Sylvia v Couture bout
bryanand - "We saw what happens when a boxer hits an MMA fighter in the Sylvia v Mercer bout."I don't get it... the boxer knocked him stone cold with one punch, the non boxer knocked him down but couldn't finish him right after the punch, or in 25 more minutes. Or maybe that was your point.... I don't know.

Ray Mercer beats Fedor 9/10!
Boxers specialize in punching hard but wear more protective gloves....MMA's take more shots to the face with less protection...I'd hazard to say that one's "chin" has little to do with what sport one starts out in since it's genetic and not trained.

Both prove what a granite chin Sylvia has!
High level boxers tend to have better hands, footwork and chins. High level MMA fighters are better at everything else. Was this some sort of big mystery?
Hmmm. Boxing Gloves to the face...or...little gloves that only prevent the knuckles from being broken to the face?
