Better way to watch movies on Apple TV?

Currently streaming from iTunes which I manually add each movie once I download it.
Then almost every day I have to turn off then on the home sharing on iTunes to get the computer contents to show up on Apple TV.
Is there a better way ? Phone Post 3.0
