I hoped this fight would finish in a submission and not by anyone sleeping, rather by one guy tapping and it happened. i wanted to see who would be the better grappler and it turned out to be a dazed and woozy Mir. Mino lasted about 30 seconds on the ground before his carreer was probably ended due to a beautiful submission. The place where i was watching the fights errupted and went crazy with excitement over that finsih. Hats off to Mir, he leaves no doubt.
Fuck mir
Mir offensively is very dangerous (defensively he is still very weak), and the last thing Nog probably thought when he went for the ill advised choke was that several seconds later he'd be fighting like hell to keep himself from being submitted.

Just like Mirs cocky ass. Acts like he was owning Nog when he was actually knocked out and Nog should have just finished with strikes. Im sure he will be upset tomorrow. Nice Kimura for sure but he got owned every second of the fight up to that point.

No different than Nog's wins against Cro Cop and Sylvia yet he gets nothing but praise for those fights.
Its his size and strength that gives him the edge. Nog's crazy for not tapping i hope he's ok and heals quick
He timed the sweep and trapped the arm and took it home for dinner.

Jeez. I'm surprised to see a fighter of your calliber miss what happened? Nog was hardly "owning" every second of that fight. Stand-up was dead even until Nog landed a shot to Mir's neck and a nice follow-up. He dazed him for sure, but that's hardly every second of the fight, and also a fraction of the time that Mir owned Nog right back on the ground.
Mir is just crazy in the transitions. Still surprised Nog didn't just keep pounding away, seemed 2 punches away from a stoppage. That's MMA for you though, and why we fucking love this sport, cuz anything can happen.
Oh sheesh
What happened tonight could happen to any of the top bjj guys in the sport. Look what happened to Thales Leites vs Matt Horowich (purple belt). BJJ is a chess match one wrong move and it's checkmate. Good black belts get subbed all the time. I still feel that Nog has better jiu jitsu but just got caught. It happens. Congrats to Mir he showed why he's one of the best at HW had Nog decided to ground n pound him he would have won.

What exactly does it matter if you're losing before you end a guys career? You still won and you did it against adversity. You're really telling me that you expected a dazed Mir to rip off Nog's shoulder, (should have finished with strikes)?

Oh he tapped. He tapped profoundly.

Thales gassed out in that fight, was dominating most of the fight.
Nog had that fight with GNP, no idea why he goes for the choke when he didn't need to. Then he got over confident and just left his arm out there for Mir to grab. When you press too much for a finish is when you make mistakes.

agree with the westside!!!!! totally
Jambo888 - fack that fight was great though
It was great fight and really there can be no excuses from Noguiere's side. He made a mistake seems to be the one fans are making for him but they forget Mir made a mistake too. He allowed himself to be punched in the face and hurt pretty badly But Mir overcaem his mistake adn tore off Nog's arm. Nog made a mistake and it put him in a grappling situation with Mir where he was unable to last 30 seconds before tapping out. I'd like to see Mir/Werdum t settle who the best submission heavyweight in the world is.
Sorry if I offended anyone. Mir has great ground no doubt. He was also 2 punches away from losing that fight. In my eyes Nog lost the fight Mir didnt win it. It was Nogs fault he lost. Got overzellous and should have just stayed where he was and finished. Yes it Mirs sub and transition was sick. Anyone saying it was even on the feet needs to rewind it. He was getting caught over and over and already looked gassed at one point when they seperated.
THe part that pisssed me off was the way he got up talking shit like he fucking owned the fight when in reality he owed 5 secdonds of it It was just the inportant 5 seconds.

Sir. Honestly you didn't offend, I was simply surprised by your post for the reasons I stated. Always a fan, and I respect you as a fighter. It's still fun to post in here when fighter's of your calliber post along side the fans whether or not we agree.
Mir is the best in the business when it comes to power submissions like a kimura or armbar. Any opponent that gets caught in a bone breaking sub against him needs to be prepared to tap quickly. Nog had his chance.

Just QFT and checking in to confirm a prescription of self ban for west side, for minimum 2 weeks. No contact (lurking) for 1 whole week due to getting his argument snapped like nogs arm
