It seems like the guys that are top challengers will fight with almost any injury because they dont wanna miss out on a title shot.
Then,as soon as someone wins the title they get surgery, let all injuries that have been nagging them for a while heal up, and are out for over a year. Which, is not anything against any of the champs, but it is taking interest away from each of those division titles.
Velasquez, Shogun both will go over a year before their first title defenses. Bones Jones pulled out of the Shogun fight and will now defend against Rampage instead. GSP just wont fight often

They are spending major money to acquire Strikeforce and the cable channel. It might work out, it might not be a good move spending all that cash.
TUF is getting bad ratings. Lesnar was supposed to deliver and instead this season was a disaster.
you know, I have to say something about this whole topic.
The problem here for the non-noob tuf crowd, is that they're just spoiled.
these cards have just as good of fights as they ever have (there are always exceptions). but the cards come up so quick now, it's very different.
Before this all started getting popular an event would build steam for months. there was no other MMA to see on TV and those events are all that was talked about for a couple months. when it finally came up that momentum got everyone excited.
but now with 54235 events per year on TV/PPV there is very little time to get momentum.
I think this will also be the eventual downfall of the PPV model, but it doesn't mean the events are shitty, or weaker than before. They're just so often nobody gets that kind of momentum except extremely high profile fights.
