Bill Belichick??

What makes him such a great coach?

Of course, that Tom guy helps but there is a much more with that? He seems to get lower players to step up to become viable options. Earlier this year, they looked horrible defensively. Tonight and actually the past few weeks, they look completely different

I think it's they way they adjust their play calling to what they have and who is playing well. The do it better at half time than anyone and they do it in prepartion up to the game

think he just sees it different then everyone else? The team is always prepared, does he just hold his guys at such a high standard?

Dude has a defensive first approach.

That, coupled with a Top 10 qb makes his outcomes pretty damn good.

Having the greatest QB of all time helps.

HE'S A HOLOCAUST DENIER

He's a competent professional in a league of wannabe's.

His system and the preparation he demands from his players. Plus he studies and schemes against other teams better than anyone.

This is definitely true. players leave NE and do nothing anywhere else.

He and Saban are very similar. They just seem to be a few steps ahead of their competition. Both New England and Alabama are at the top every year. They are consistent. They put the system ahead of individuals. Both teams have had several significant injuries this year but are still winning.
I'm a big fan of both and watch them both every week. It's easy to understand why so many hate them but as a fan, shit it's fun to watch them do their thing.

Very fucking different

Does Belechick do anything? On most NFL teams, the Offensive and Defensive Coordinator are responsible for practice and play calling. Head coach is usually just a motivator and determines who plays and sits based on input from OC and DC. Most NFL head coaches are just figureheads.

Not sure if serious.

Ok buddy. Back to soccer for you

He is definitely a football genius, but having a stabilizing force like TB12 allows a lot of these things to happen.  You can demand the workload from all sorts of mid level players when you are winning and when your all world QB does the same.  When the most important part of the game is locked up it allows you the luxury of examine all the rest of the angles involved in the game

I think they have both contributed greatly to the others career and it has basically been a partnership.

He takes showers with that Tom guy

in some ways, yes. In others, they are very similar.

you know that Saban was one of BB's assistants before, right?

His very militarized approach wins players over. He doesn't treat his players with favoritism either. He shows them to put in effort into every play and he maximizes their abilities.

“Do your job, hold people accountable,” Niumatalolo says. “I think that’s the difference between him and a lot of people. I don’t know if all NFL people hold their guys accountable like the Patriots and Coach Belichick do.”

To me he seems like a throwback to the great coaches like George Allen who paid great attention to details and thought out of the box. Compromising morals and a willingness to cheat [or do anything to win] puts him over the top. Workahlocic who thinks about work 24x7 is standard for all good coaches.
