Just spoke with Denis.....Results are still sketchy...
Bill pounded Yan with elbows in the second round.
Pellerin wouldn't come out for the third round.
Details to follow.....
TTT for Bill..... Man, you're going all the way.
Cool, thanks.
FUCKIN AWESOME really no suprise though. This fight should have been for the title being as Bill is the true Canadian Champion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WOOOH!
congrats butcher
bill is couture-esque in his old man fighting skills.
ttt for Mahood Congrats
Way to go Bill! Now it is on to Australlia for some sun, sand , and more ASS KICKING!!!!!
Bill is a wrecking machine, give him the shot for sure.
Bill set out to get that title so it will be nice to see him acheive it but he also doesn't need it he should be fighting bigger names than Cote as he has proved he can beat anyone put in front of him
Stephane has offered him the title man times and hasnt followed through. We can only wait and see what happens next.
TKO canadian title doesn't really mean a whole lot, considering the green-ness of its current holder. i think once bill wins in australia he will be moving on to bigger things.
Bill "Bigger Things" Mahood
Right on Bill!
Wow, this guys is busting to go on a killing spree in 2004.
Congratulations to you, Bill. I think Chris Haseman may just have to turn the fight preperation dial up a notch after that.
Cheers!
Kerry
Hey Kerry....Thanks for checking in.
Just talked to Bill a few minutes ago. He's in great shape and looking forward to meeting up with you on the Gold Coast.
I'll be in touch.
Just got a detailed PBP from Denis and Bill.
Round 1 - A lot of circling, a few exchanges. Pellerin scored a couple of solid takedowns. Bill had a couple of kimura and guillotine attempts. Pellerin landed a couple of shots. Overall Pellerin did have the upper hand in this round.
Round 2 - More of the same in the beginning. A couple of clinches had Bill delivering solid knees to Pellerin's body. Back down to the ground with Pellerin in Bill's half guard. Near the end of the round, Bill executed an elevator reversal putting him in a full mount. Big elbows to the head, forcing Pellerin to turn. More elbows to the side of the head. At the end of the round Pellerin, clearly damaged from the blows, went back to his corner and collapsed.
After the fight, it was Pellerin who told Bill that the elbows had caused damage and forced him to call a stop to the fight.
Stoppage as a result of elbows...Not dehydration.
Congratulations Bill.
Huge props and respect to Yan for showing up prepared to fight..... Looking forward to seeing you back in the ring.
I sometimes hyperventilate too when Bill smashes me in the head with elbows.... :)
Sweet, great work Bill. Pellerin sounds like a classy guy for clearing up what happened with the collapse at the end.
I just got back home from the show and that was probably one of the most scariest thing I've ever seen in a MMA ring. Pellerin had trouble getting up after the bell sounded to end the 2nd round and kind of stumbled to his corner. Sitting on his stool, he eventually collapsed and looked to be shaking a bit. I've spoken to Yan a few times and he seems like a good guy, so I was a little worried about him.
After a little while, I began to look at Bill who didn't leave the corner. I read his lips and he said something like "Come on man, you can do it." while Yan was laying on the ground. He just repeated that over and over again. Call Bill, "The Butcher", a killer, but in my mind, he's a true class act and made another fan today.
I'm sure other people noticed what he was saying, but it also seemed that Bill refused to celebrate until Yan got up and left the ring. These guys go out there to hurt eachother but respect eachother at the same time, that's why I really love this sport.
