Bisping: Cung Le is a phony

<p>Michael Bisping fights Cung Le in the main event of Saturday's UFC Fight Night in Macao. Bisping has more relatively quiet in social media on the trash talk, a bit unusual for him, but today lashed out his opponent, who he believes is fighting for the wrong reason:</p>
“Cung Le is a bit of a phony. I went to Macao for the launch press conference with Cung Le in June, and I was very polite, very professional. I exchanged all the pleasantries, gave him all the small talk as you are supposed to in these situations and I even went as far as pretending to be absolutely blown away that he’s apparently friends with Channing Tatum," Bisping said. "Basically, I went out of my way to be nice to him and everything was very civil. We promoted the fight, shook hands, and went back home to train for the fight.
“Then I see him on UFC.com doing a Fight Club Q and A and he’s talking a load of bollocks about me. Basically, he’s jumped on the same old, boring bandwagon everyone else who fights me does with is to say what a smack-talker I am while, as always, they are the ones who talk crap first. What a phony. ... One fan at the Q and A asked him what his game plan was and he said “Flying tornado kicks and thunder and lightning!” What does he think we are going to be doing in the Venetian Macao? Playing Tekken 4? It was another cheesy, embarrassing line from a cheesy, embarrassing actor.”
I started watching that Q&A, but turned it off because Cung was really annoying to me. I do remember him saying he'll kick Michael's ass for all the shit he talks and I thought, "when did Bisping talk shit about Lee?" I guess the answer is he never did.
Lol. Bisbing was really blown away the Le is friends with Tatum. He felt embarrassed about it later so he decided to throw in the pretend to be blown away line....
BirdWatcher - Isnt this familiar to the lead up to the Kennedy fight? Then Mike got beat and played nice guy in the post fight saying he didn't have an issue with Tim?
Yes. Standard Bisping "this is personal!" build up to his fights. Next he'll be promising Cung Le will get the worst beating of his life and drum up a "heated" confrontation at the stare down.
LOL so Bisping was pretending to be polite and be impressed with Cung Le knowing some celeb, and yet he says Cung Le is the phony?
Yeah, this.
Could be that Bisping is trying to pump himself up for this fight because 1) there isn't a lot of buzz, and 2) he seems to perform better when he has a grudge going in beforehand. But yeah, seeing Mike trying to get in Cung's face during the pre-fight face-off just looks silly.
Bisping's problem is he's way fucking smarter and wittier than almost anybody he's going to fight. It's gotta be frustrating. Anyway, he always wins the shit talk battle.
