Bisping: Floyd scammed, wants Conor fight to get m

Im not saying all illiterate people are stupid, but he is.

CaptainWoody -
Bojack Horseman - maybe but lets be honest he keeps drawers full of money and is far from broke.

when he starts selling off cars and houses etc let me know.

Yes, lets be honest....How many athletes do you need to see go belly up before you understand that how they represent themselves isn't necessarily reality?

Explain to me how Floyd is different? Just look at what he is spending

Floyd is different because he makes soooooo much more than any other athlete ever has

This. To put it in perspective, Floyd alone has probably made more money in a single boxing event than every mma fighter ever combined. Against Manny Pac he cleared 225 million, which is incomparable to anything in mma.

Same old story. These inner city gifted athletes blow through crazy amounts of money and end up broke. Look at the fortune Iron Mike Tyson squandered. Buying fucking tigers and shit at one point.

Steve Iceman Little - Floyd ain't stupid, it's sad you guys think he is though.

Manny isn't stupid...the verdict is still out on Floyd. At the rate he's going, it doesn't look good.

Manny's made well over $300 million, then became a congressman in the Philippines. Yes, he has a badass home and some badass cars but he isn't close to spending his loot like Floyd is.

We've seen this time and time again...yet you're convinced it won't happen to him, why?

I heard manny was absolutely horrible with his spending. Wtf ?

bad example

I don't think he's a model or anything like I said, he's has houses and cars....but he's nowhere near Floyd's level.

Manny is retarded with money. He supposedly has simply given away half he's so charitable. He bought almost 1000 tickets for his "friends" to see him fight mayweather costing millions of dollars. Meanwhile mayweather shoots videos tossing tens of thousands of bills on strippers while picking it back up and giving them a fraction of that they agreed to be paid. Money ain't no fool. And I can't fucking stand the asshole.

So Manny being charitable to friends and family is being "retarded" with money, but floyd giving the strippers only a portion of what he throws in the air is not?

Enlighten us.  How is he generating revenue?  What is he bringing in vs what he is spending?

I listened to his hollywood unlocked interview. He got a rental property in upscale new york, his TMT merchandise brand brings in $20M a year, and he makes a lot of money on appearance and speaking fees.

He says he gets 7 figures a month to spend from his finaincal manager. If you have $300M+ and put that in some good bonds you'll can have that setup.

CaptainWoody - There are only two reasons why he wants to fight Conor so bad.

1. He want's the record..he want's 50-0. If this was really a big deal for him he wouldn't have retired though...Conor gives him that 50th win easily, no risk.

2. He knows he needs or is going to need the money. If he doesn't change his life though, he's just buying more time against the inevitable.

He's not Jordan, he doesn't have the money generating brand like him. Jordan makes millions a year just from shoes, and he's been retired for like 14 years...Mayweather doesn't have that.
Egoooo and money

Another big difference between Manny and Floyd is that he spends the majority of his time in the Philippines where his dollar gets stretched WAY more than in Vegas.

I wish I could sit one of these athletes down and stop them from all goofy schemes and "investments" folks will come to them with, have them invest in rental real estate and SP500 index fund.

It's too bad there isn't better money in giving people solid, good advice.
Sure they could read what smart people like buffet tells his family to do...but none will.
It's too bad because it's so simple.

Did you see the documentary 'Broke' ?

Amazing stuff.

Some atheletes don't even know what tax is.

We did this to death in another thread.

I will say this about Floyd.. the guy has gotten into gambling on sports. He puts down massive amounts on sports events, and sometimes he loses sometimes he wins. Sports gambling long term is almost always a losing proposition. He blows through his money on a much larger scale than most, and I can't see him staying on top of his spending if he ever goes into full chase mode. He's been at it for a few years now too, so he's probably blowing through his fortune giving a good chunk to Vegas every year.. won't last unless he breaks the habit.

Regardless how much he's made he won't be the first guy to get scammed by accountant or just bad financial planning.

The McGregor fight would be easy money is probably what he thinks especially if they can sell a rematch as well.

Dougie -

He's got a ton of watches. He doesn't even know how many, he just weighs them.

Are you saying he owns one ton of watches and he knows it's a ton because he weighed them?

Floyd might be a gigantic moron, but I don't believe a guy with Al Haymon managing the finances is going to go broke.
