He must drop to 185 to compete. He is not 6'2 he is 6'0 and has a less than tight middle. He would get eatin up by the top UFC 205's. He would be better suited for 185.
Bisping needs to come to America or someplace else with a solid camp of guys and work on his skill...his submissions were powerful but not clean.
He let his distance get decided by a considerably smaller fighter most of the first round
Even though he owned the clinch he got caught on the way out almost every time with a hook to the jaw (something that will get him in big trouble with a stronger puncher)
Bispings athletically gifted and I think he will do well in either weightclass. I think he needs more development time than the last run of fighters do however, if they want him to be competitive.
I agree.. I think Bisping would be great at 185.
Bisping doesnt need to come to america for bjj at least. the best on the planet (R. Gracie) is in the UK!
I just realized that 'R. Gracie' could be one of 50 gracies! I'm talking about Roger in case some readers (IE: tuf newbs) arent schooled on who's who in bjj....
i would like to see him fight a couple of more times @ 205lbs and then move down.
I thought Bisping looked great. Looked to me like he could give anyone at that weight a good fight.
whitson is correct IMO
In the Sherdog interview Bisping said he was going hit the weights and put on some muscle.
I think he will be fine. He's a natural fighter along with being skilled. He certainly did look like he was overpowered by anyone on TUF.
You got it.........I said that right off the bat alot of those guys look to small for the weight they're fighting at.........
"In the Sherdog interview Bisping said he was going hit the weights and put on some muscle."
wait a minute..
you actually understood what he said in that sherdog interview???
Weight Cutting is over rated. From what I saw, and look at the dudes record, he is going to do just fine. I bet he feels extremely comfertable at 205, having to cut probably little weight, he is solid and his skills are awesome. I can't wait to see him fight again.
I think Bisping can fight at 205 but he really does look on the small size for that division.
