Prize Money

Biz will be awarding $5,000 to the best Gi and No-Gi teams. $3,000 total given to top Gi team.
$2,000 total given to top No-Gi team. Winners split the money with teammates and their school.
75% of the purse goes to teammates and 25% to school.

How to Enter

Any school may enter. A school representative (or team captain) must check-in at the Biz booth during registration to register their school/team name. Affiliate schools can compete as their own team or under the banner of their affiliation. Individual competitors must identify their association with their team at the time of registration. There will be a leader-board scoring the event throughout the day. Only registered teams will be scored and only the competitors who identified themselves (during registration) with a registered team will be eligible to win.

General Rules Gi Competition

All Adult, Masters, and Senior divisions are eligible. The team that wins the most Gold medals will be named the Biz Team Challenge Gi Champion. For a Gold medal win to be counted in the running total, a competitor must have fought at least (1) match. In the event of a tie we will count silver medals. The winning team will split the purse. 75% of the purse ($2,250) will be divided equally among the individuals whose medals counted toward the team victory. 25% of the purse ($750) will be given to the school that the winning team represents.

General Rules No-Gi Competition

Same as Gi but... There are only 8 potential gold medals (5 weight classes men + 3 women).
The winning team will split the purse. 75% of the purse ($1,500) will be divided equally among the individuals whose medals counted toward the team victory. 25% of the purse ($500) will be given to the school that the winning team represents.

In order to receive payment, winners will be asked to sign a cash receipt and/or other documentation.
This event is for adults only. Kids divisions will not be counted.

All matches are subject to the common rules of the tournament. Biz reserves the right to award or disqualify competitors at its' sole discretion based upon un-sportsman like conduct or judging disagreements.

Intent of prize money: (1 ) to help support individual competitors with training and travel expenses (2) to support schools/academies with school related supplies/equipment and expenses.
