first off anyone that argues with BJ based on how many of his fights went to decision are slow. fights would be fought different if there were no decisions to rely on. not sure how you could miss that point.

I like BJ's solution to the problem, but realistically it would never happen. I like that the guys racking up draws are getting paid less. You would see both guys going for the finish under his system.
An alternative idea would be to have a non scoring period and then have an overtime round that gets scored if it gets to that. This would still push most fighters to go for the finish since they get no points in the non scoring period. I'm sure there would still be some point fighters, but it would at least make it more difficult for them under this system. It would also avoid draws, which I think is an unsatisfying ending for fighters and fans alike.

So many fighters have had the shit kicked out of them and were able to survive to a decision. You're basically saying they're on par with whoever kicked the shit out of them by calling the fight a tie.
I like it but it's too radical and will never pass through the commission.
too get rid of point fighting, judges need to re-do the judging criteria that rewards finisher's and penalize stalling w/ point deductions or yellow cards.

I think a lot of top fighters would have similar records according to BJ's standard. A couple "real" losses and tons of draws.
