round one:
the two fighters meet each other in the middle of the octagon. st pierre immediately attempts a takedown within the first 10 seconds of the fight like he has done in his last four fights, but BJ is well aware of this and times it perfectly with a knee. pierre barely misses it and bj makes him pay with a left jab. bj finds his range with the jab while keeping pierre at distance. pierre looks increasingly frustrated as he is not able to get within distance to take bj down, and bj is taking him out of his game with his timing.
10-8 Penn
round 2:
the bell rings and the two fighters touch gloves. GSP is looking patient as he is waiting for BJ to let him get within good takedown range. GSP continually spin kicks air, a la their first fight. pierre unleashes his spinning back kick but BJ is having none of it as he responds with a big right hand and left uppercut, clipping GSP on the nose. GSP is bleeding. both fighters land some good jabs. BJ continues to utilize his range and keep pierre at bay. pierre has not landed a single takedown yet and seems to be comfortable waiting until the later rounds and taking BJ into deep water.
10-9 Penn
round 3:
GSP comes out blazing after greg jackson told him to pick up the pace. GSP attempts a single leg and pushes BJ against the cage. both fighters struggle in the clinch for a minute and they both give it up as it becomes a stalemate. surprisingly, BJ is looking fresh by the end of the third round and GSP is looking frustrated and somewhat fatigued.
10-9 Penn
round 4:
between rounds, rudy valentino tells BJ "keep circling to the left and using that jab. you can do this all night long, baby. all night long." BJ comes out looking angry and unleashing a 4-punch combo on pierre, but pierre avoids. pierre lands some good leg kicks and bj makes him pay each time with a stiff jab. BJ attempts a takedown and is reversed. pierre lays in BJ's closed guard for the last minute of the round, but is not able to inflict damage or pass BJ's guard.
10-9 Pierre
round 5:
greg jackson explains to georges between rounds that he must get a knockout or submission. both fighters touch gloves as the final round begins. pierre attempts another single leg attempt from the outside and pushes BJ to the fence once again. another stalemate ensues in the clinch and BJ lands a huge right hand as both fighters back away from the fence. pierre attempts 3 more takedowns and seems almost desperate at this point. BJ lands a knee to pierre's jaw during another takedown attempt and pierre is out on his feet. the bell rings before BJ can finish him off and BJ licks pierre's blood off his gloves.
10-9 Penn
You invested entirely too much time into this post. But, I appreciate your enthusiasm, and devotion to the sport.
BTW, this is more likely to be the biggest fight in MMA history, than the main event this weekend.
i dont think its possible to beat GSP by decision. but i think bj will finish him.
decision again, barring any fluke
Sounds good to me..
shakes head lol

Of course it is. The fight this weekend is with an old guy fighting a WWE mutant... It is entertaining but hardly the biggest in MMA history.
The fight of GSP vs. BJ is without a doubt the biggest fight in MMA history.
2 of the top pound for pound fighters going at it in their prime... what could be better than that???
I realize I was being Captain Obvious. I was refering to the fact that every commercial for UFC91 is pegging it as "The Biggest Fight in MMA History".
Who is Pierre??
i like how the pbp is sounding.
war bj, all day!
you can never have that 45 min. back..... such a shame.
If you want to guess Bj wins by decision, I can respect that...
But you're saying that Bj takes a 10-8 round by throwing 1 knee and jabbing?
Really?
Max
This fight is not going to last five rounds.
I don't think so.
Penn couldn't hardly go 3 rounds with GSP there is no way Penn will be able to go at GSP pace for 5 rounds.
Round 4 BJ imo.
How in the world did they give St. Pierre round 4?? BS!
WAR BJ!

LMFAO. Agreed. Then again, this is the type of person who thought Rd 1 of the first fight was 10-8, so understanding the scoring system isn't a big strength in the overall analysis.
