bjj after knee surgery

how will having torn meniscus surgery affect training? any techniques I won't be able to do?

Once you are healed you should be able to do everything. I think its about 6 months to full recovery, though.

I had it January 6th of 2006 and was back rolling (lightly and with a knee brace) by the end of March. 3 months after that, the knee on which I had the surgery was actually the stronger, more flexible knee. I never re-aggravated that knee at anytime. So there is light at the end of the tunnel.

I had meniscus surgery - was rolling about 2 months after surgery and competing after 6 months.

It was 100% after 9 months.

Just keep up with your PT the whole way thru - GOOD LUCK!

Meniscus surgery Oct. 13. I felt better after 2 months. I went back but
sprained my other knee. Don't go back too soon. Develop leg strength,
balance, and posture. Hopefully Bolo will respond to you. Check him out

two meniscus surgery and a reconstruction of the acl.

knees are good, doing loads of yoga to allow for better range of motion and to keep the ITB from getting too tight. Having tight ITBs causes pain on the lateral aspect of the knees.

meniscus isnt bad. the worst ones to recover from for bjj are the ACL and/or MCL. there are different surgeries they can do as a solution.. are they going to reconstruct the meniscus or just scope it and clean it up/out???

the first is several months recovery. the second is a few weeks.
