Are there any Bjj schools in Bellevue? I'm looking for a place that is mostly Gi oriented. Not so interested in Vale Tudo. Just jits and sport jits. I'm working nights so day classes would be prefered. Please help...anyone. I have a car so i could drive to seattle or surrounding area if needed.
Not sure if Ring Sports actually does any gi stuff, but Eric Dahlberg who teaches the ground stuff there has a great BJJ background and I have heard great stuff about his style.
AMC doesn't teach anything with gi, but you can sometimes find guys that will want to roll with a gi.
There is the Ballard Firehouse, or something like that, which is about 20 minutes or so from Bellevue and they teach gi stuff, but there are sometimes problems with having enough people there and an instructor. Could be better now.
KIRIGI,
hey, my mother is ailing and i may have to move up there. let me know about any good no-gi and muay thai places - she stays in Bellvue so i would be moving there. The only place i know of is AMC where MO is.
U8DUST you are correct there is also a Lotus Club in Auburn James Foster is the intructor there ,a big guy that moves like a little guy, very smooth game
I've met Alonso and know some of his students. Great teacher. I was going to try and get a blue belt this last year during school but I had that back surgery.
I have heard that Marcelo is a great teacher, but I am not sure if he got back into the US. I know he was having some troubles with that. If he is back I would recommed checking out his place for gi work.
