Just watched Bra Boys last night, really enjoyed it, and was suprised to see a few BJJ references.
I vaguely remember a thread about this, but didn't pay much attention at the time.
About halfway through, it shows a guy in side control, completely dominating some poor guy, ;landing unanswered right hands.
When refferring to the Cronulla riots, one local interviewed talks about Koby and the "Jiu Jitsu" boys following up.
I was just curious as to the Abberton/BJJ connection?
Obviously these guys train, I was just curious as to who with, and how seriously?

Nice to see the small clip of the guy fighting MMA too (can't remember his name).

Oh, just remembered one of the Abbertons wearing a NSW brazilian Jiu Jitsu circuit top too.

I find BJJ in bras far to restrictive, great support though.

I dont know anything about them but i just know that the guys i've trained
with and met have always been really kewl.

Big men when on their turf in large numbers but like any gang, they have trouble standing on their own two feet and leaving their very little pond

Claim to be defending the overcrowding and over-development of "their" beach (a lame justification for the bully boy gang crap). LOL, by what? Making a movie, publishing a book and hanging out with celebs at A-list parties! Most people had never heard of (forget visited) Maroubra until now.

Didn't excactly prove their manhood during the retaliation to the Cronulla riots. Asked the Lebs who trashed Maroubra (why is it the bra boys are made heroes of while these ethnic gangs are vilified?) publicly to back-off after 1 night.

Real tough! Try to go for a surf at their beach they'll pound you (if theirs enough of them, of course) but trash their neighbourhood and they'll beg for a truce;)

In regards to them being "good blokes" when you join a gang and stand-over people just wanting to use the beach, you aren't a good bloke!

Watched the movie last night. Was very interesting to a non-sydney sider.I enjoyed it.Certainly some crazy shit, surfing those big waves around the rocks. Throw me some MMA gloves any day over that!
