BJJ in Kelowna / Vancouver, BC

I have a good friend that is moving to Kelowna, BC. He's looking for a good BJJ school (in Kelowna) with a possible affiliation in Vancouver. He will travel to Vancouver once a month and having an affiliated school will give him the option to train there too.

Any recommendations?

Just go here and forget about the affiliation. I think they're pretty much the only game in town anyway.

There are plenty of places in Van that'll be happy to have someone drop in and train with them while he visits.

.

KyokushinandBJJ,

At the main school next week (graciebarra.ca) Braulio Estima will be teaching for one night.

There are 4 other black belts training on a regular basis.

In Vernon which is just 30 mins from Kelowna we have open mat every sunday and Jorden usually comes up with some of his guys,

I'm opening a school in Penticton in a few months as well.

Any questions send me an e-mail seanmchugh@shaw.ca

You don't have any bad choices with any of the posts listed.

Good Luck!

All the above listed are great clubs to train at. But be sure to check out RDCJJ.com The owner/head instructor Sterling Redlack, is a Marc Laimon brown belt and an excellent teacher/competitor. Kyle Deleurme, also a head instructor, is a Marc Laimon purple belt and brings a wealth of knowledge to the mats. RDC is full of excellent guys, although a smaller club, we still have huge showings in medals at the tournaments down in Vancouver. RDC offers great judo instruction also, taught by Brett Cooper (Marc Laimon purple belt) and wrestling, taught by Ian Caird.

Crazy Tony was (still is?) a purple under Marcus, i heard a rumor he wasn't teaching anymore. He was doing a lot of reffing for KotC

Tony wasn't teaching or training for a couple of years and was focuses on his own business and going all over the place and become one of Canada's leading mma referee's.

Tony is still is a purple belt but his experience and skill level go far beyond his belt level.

Tony and Sean (meathead) are good f*cking peeps. Not only great trainers but great for the laughs

Kelowna is lucky to have a number of clubs with great training.
